Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Dropped back from Class 3 grade after finishing second last over 1200m at this track, beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds. The run prior was no better, also second last and finished well held after being unwanted in the market. Others make more appeal.

Made ground without threatening when fifth first-up at this track, beaten just under three lengths by Absolute Awakened. He had been near the top of betting before finishing eighth behind Come Fast Fay Fay two back, and his 1400m record is sound enough with two wins and four placings from 15 tries. Win record lately is the query, but he profiles as a sound place hope.

Resumed with a much better effort when third at this track, reaching the minor money late after starting at long odds and finishing two lengths from Absolute Awakened. His prior ninth was also only three lengths away, so the form is stronger than the raw positions suggest. The 1400m win record is thin, but he has a strong chance.

Returns from a four-month break after a modest debut at this track, where he was second last over 1200m and beaten just under six lengths at long odds. He settled midfield but failed to make an impact, and now tackles around 1400m for the first time. Untried at 1400m and has to find a lot more.

Comes here on the quick back-up after being slowly away, checked soon after the start and never competitive over 1000m, finishing second last and beaten just over eight lengths. His debut at this track was similarly plain when second last over 1200m. Third-up fitness helps only slightly; he still has plenty to prove.

Finished last when resuming at Happy Valley, beaten eight lengths after being held up from a wide draw before weakening badly over the final 300m. His debut at the same venue was also poor, ending second last and beaten seven and a half lengths. New 1400m test demands clear improvement.

Had some early contact and faded late when ninth at Happy Valley first-up, beaten five lengths by Young Arrow. His previous run reads better, finishing third at the same venue when beaten just under two lengths after being short of room near the top of the straight. Track and 1400m records keep him to place claims.

Held his ground only fairly when fifth at this track last start, beaten just under four lengths after settling midfield. The stronger pointer is his previous second behind Rising Phoenix, where he led and was beaten a neck at big odds.

Resumed with a fair sixth at this track over 1200m, beaten just under three lengths in an open market and coming under pressure late. His previous eighth was also not far away, beaten just over three lengths behind Prestige Hall. The 1400m record is unconvincing, but he can fight for a placing.

Was well found enough in betting first-up but could only finish eighth at this track, beaten just over four lengths after settling midfield and fading late. The run prior had more merit, as he made good headway to challenge at the top of the straight despite racing wide throughout. Lightly raced profile keeps him high in calculations.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing fifth at this track, beaten just over three lengths, when wide into the home straight and staying on late. Earlier in that campaign he was 11th behind Come Fast Fay Fay and offered little in the straight. Won't be far away.

Returns from a three-month break with genuine excuses around his last two runs. He was four-wide without cover and carried very wide when ninth behind Packing Fighter, while his previous fourth behind Meaningful Dragon had merit after another tough run from an awkward draw. Blinkers and a claim sharpen the setup, making him a strong winning chance.

Finished off strongly when fourth at Happy Valley last start, beaten just under two lengths by Young Arrow and nearest on the line. That followed a sound third, beaten just over a length, so his recent form is honest. First go at 1400m is the main query.

Returns from a lengthy spell after a very consistent campaign, finishing second, second and third in his latest three runs. He was beaten two lengths by Graceful Heart at this track when last seen, bumped at the start before finishing strongly as a well-supported favourite. Still a maiden, but this looks his best chance yet.
