Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Returned with a sound fourth at Happy Valley, beaten half a length by Dancing Classics after settling midfield and starting near the top of an open market. His previous run was only fair, but he covered ground from the rear and still made some late headway. Genuine place hope, though he has to reproduce that latest run.

Resumed with a good win at this track, beating Solid State by just over a length after starting among the outsiders. That was a sharp turnaround from his 12th behind Straight To Glory at this venue, and his record at the track and distance reads well with two wins from five attempts. Place claims again if he holds that form.

Finished fourth behind Alpha Strike at this track last start, beaten just under two lengths after being inconvenienced late, so the run was not without merit. He had also been fourth behind Straight To Glory when sent out favourite, but he held every chance there and his one win from ten at this track and distance keeps the assessment guarded. Others look to bring stronger claims.

Was never a serious factor when tenth behind Lucy In The Sky over 1200m at this track, though he was taken wider into the straight. The run prior was also plain after covering ground without cover, so there are excuses but also a form gap to close. Capable of improving into the minors.

Was ninth behind Dancing Classics at Happy Valley, beaten just over four lengths after improving into the race before losing his position entering the straight. That followed another ninth at the same venue when fading late after market respect. Hard to have.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending his Australian campaign with a Caulfield win over 1400m, beating Ten Warriors by just under a length after finding plenty. He had earlier fought hard when second in a 3yo Maiden at Sandown-Lakeside, so the exposed form is progressive. Untried at 1000m, but the upside makes him a strong chance.

Worked back into the race with a seventh at Happy Valley, beaten just under three lengths by Dancing Classics after settling midfield. That was better than his previous last, where he was never in contention and beaten just over nine lengths. Must lift to trouble the main chances.

Finished 11th behind Alpha Strike at this track and was unwanted in the market, which is not the right platform for a quick rebound. Two back he was closer behind Straight To Glory, beaten just over two lengths after making a late impression, but he remains unplaced from four starts at this track and distance. Hard to make a strong case.

Made an encouraging first local appearance when third to Alpha Strike at this track, beaten a length and a half after fighting on steadily over the final 300m despite starting unwanted in the market. He had ended his Australian form with a dominant 3yo+ Maiden win at Mildura, beating Of The View by just over four lengths. Has upside off that and looks the leading chance.

Resumed with a solid fifth behind Alpha Strike at this track, beaten just under two lengths after keeping on well to the line and finishing close to the placegetters. His 1000m record is reliable, with one win and three placings from five starts, and he was also honest over 1200m two back. Strong chance to improve second-up.

Comes back to 1000m after being beaten over 11 lengths on the Sha Tin Aw last week, where he raced prominently and faded. His prior eighth at Happy Valley was more competitive, but still only fair after leading. Place hope at best.

Returns from a four-month break after finishing 11th at this track, beaten seven and a half lengths by Chicken Dinner when long odds and fading late. His previous Australian run was a Doomben 3yo Maiden win as odds-on favourite, beating Carbonara by just under a length, so there is some talent in the profile. Earlier Doomben maiden win gives some hope, but he has a fair bit to prove.

Resumed with a sixth behind Alpha Strike at this track, beaten just under three lengths after doing no better than hold ground in the run home. His prior second to Straight To Glory reads better, beaten a neck when near the top of betting. Winning edge is the query after a plain fresh sixth.

Returns from a four-month break after finishing last campaign with two Class 4 wins at this track, the latest a head victory over Beauty Thunder after starting near the top of betting. He had won by two and a half lengths the run before, and his track-and-trip record of two wins and four placings from eight starts is strong. Class 3 is tougher, but he rates highly.
