Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last campaign with two second-last finishes in Class 1 company, most recently when beaten four lengths by Beauty Joy over 1800m at Sha Tin after tracking the leaders and weakening late. His 1650m record is strong, with six wins and four placings from 21 attempts, and the claim helps under 61kg. Recent figures read plain, but this sets up well and he looks the one to beat.

Returns from a lengthy spell after signing off with a strong Class 3 win at this venue, quickening early in the straight to beat Pray For Justice by just under two lengths as a well-supported favourite. He had earlier stayed on only mildly when ninth behind Sky Vino at this track, so there is a little mixed form in the profile. Zac Purton is back aboard and he profiles as a genuine place hope.

Lifted sharply fourth-up when winning over 1400m at Sha Tin, pressing forward and holding on by a nose despite being unwanted in the market. That was a big turnaround from his last placing at Happy Valley, but his record on synthetic tracks is excellent with five wins and three placings from 11 starts. The market missed him last time, but the setup still reads positively.

Was safely held first-up at Seoul in Open company, finishing fifth but beaten just over seven lengths after failing to quicken. His previous Sha Tin run was also plain when eighth and beaten seven lengths at big odds. Place at best.

Did little first-up at Happy Valley, finishing second last and beaten just over four lengths after settling midfield while unwanted in the market. That followed another second-last placing behind Le Zonda over 1800m, where he was beaten over 11 lengths. Hard to make a case.

Had excuses first-up at Happy Valley when bumped early, settling rearward and making some ground for seventh, beaten four and a half lengths in Class 3 company. The run prior showed his better side when he beat Romantic Gladiator by a neck. Big weight drop and Teetan help, but the class rise tests.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing fifth in Class 3 company at Sha Tin, beaten three lengths behind Complete Unknown after making some headway late. Two back he was fourth at big odds, beaten just under a length by Lucky Sam Gor. A sound chance to run into the placings.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last campaign with a sixth at Sha Tin over 2000m, beaten just over two lengths by Call Me Magnifique after leading and giving ground late. His run prior at this venue was better, finishing fourth behind Sky Vino, and he has two wins from four at this track and distance. Recent trials were solid and he makes plenty of appeal right down in the weights.
