Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Second-up after finishing tenth at this track, beaten four lengths behind Kempes after beginning well before fading late. His previous run was in Class 3 company here when ninth to Pi Legend, so there is some depth to the recent assignments. Finds the right race to improve.

Returns from an eight-month spell after finishing sixth on the Sha Tin Aw, beaten just over two lengths by Igor Stravinsky when near the top of an open market. His previous run was a ninth in Class 3 company at this track, so there is some quality in the background. Has past 1200m wins, but recent winning form is absent.

Returns from a four-month break after making a sound debut at this track, finishing third over 1200m and beaten two lengths behind Anode at generous odds. He worked home evenly there and now has first-time blinkers, which looks a worthwhile addition for a lightly raced maiden. Blinkers go on and there is enough upside for him to be a key winning hope.

Makes his race debut with only profile information to assess, so the market may be an important guide. The 1kg claim is a small help and barrier five gives him a chance to begin his career without an obvious draw disadvantage. Race experience is missing, but he profiles as a place prospect.

Returns from a four-month break after a promising debut fourth at this track, beaten a length and a half by Healthy Healthy after settling back and doing his best work late. That effort came at big odds, so it was a better run than the market expected, and he also had Kol behind him that day. Won't be far away.

Returns from a four-month break after an unplaced debut at this track, finishing 11th behind Absolute Heart and beaten just over seven lengths when unwanted in the market. He faded late there, which leaves him with a clear performance gap to bridge against rivals who have stronger race-day form. Has to improve sharply on that race form to trouble the main hopes.

Recent efforts have been below his best, with a last at Happy Valley behind Bits Superstar after dropping away quickly and an eighth here over 1000m before that. He does have one win and one place from four starts at this track and distance, and he is race fit, but current form is the major concern. Outside chance.

Returns from a four-month break after finishing second last on debut at this track, beaten six lengths behind Lucrative Eight at big odds. He was pushed along wide into the straight and did not make enough impact late, leaving limited race evidence to support a strong push. Open to improvement, but the race form is still thin.

Second-up after finishing second last over 1000m at this track, beaten just over five lengths by Ruby Thrive after making no impression late. His debut was better, beaten just over three lengths over the same trip, but he has yet to place and now tries 1200m for the first time. Debut had some merit, but the latest run was only fair.

Returns from an eight-month spell after two unplaced runs at this track, the latest an 11th behind Gold Patch when beaten just over six lengths. His debut over 1000m was similar, finishing eighth at long odds and settling back after early contact. Stable respect helps, but race form must lift.

Returns from a four-month break after ending last campaign with a much-improved second at this track over 1400m, beaten a neck by King Of Fighters at long odds. That followed a safely held eighth, so he did take a notable step forward. The 1200m record is the query, but that latest run puts him in the place mix.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing 12th at this track, beaten nine lengths behind Green Angel when fading after sitting midfield. His previous run was also plain, beaten over 10 lengths behind Master Payment after racing handy. Barrier three helps, but he remains a place-only type on exposed form.

Produced his best run so far when fourth at this track first-up, beaten just under two lengths by Happy Shooter after leading and only being headed inside the final 100m. He had been seventh here before that after racing wide, so the latest effort was a clear step forward. Purton goes on from barrier two and he looks the horse to beat.

Ran a strong race first-up at Happy Valley, finishing third behind Live Wire and beaten a length and a half after staying on well late. That was a much better effort than his previous last at this track, and his record includes two wins at this venue and distance. Solid winning chance with the right run.
