Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Second-up now after finishing fifth in the G2 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy (Handicap) at this track, beaten two and a half lengths after settling rearward at long odds. He had won here start prior, getting to the outside and finishing strongly to beat Max Que, so the recent form is holding up. Big weight, but the form is strong enough.

Returns from a lengthy six-month spell after a high-class second in the G1 Champions & Chater Cup at this track, beaten half a length by Romantic Warrior at long odds. His start prior seventh in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup was sound enough given the depth of opposition, and he owns two wins and a placing from four starts around 1800m. Proven around 1800m and a genuine place chance fresh.

Finished fourth in the G2 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy (Handicap) at this track last start, beaten two lengths after being sent out favourite, and that remains the strongest recent reference. He had won a Class 2 here start prior, edging out Hot Delight in a tight finish, and is third-up with an excellent overall record. New 1800m test, but he sets the standard.

Comes off a determined Class 2 win at Happy Valley, where he was held up early in the straight before closing strongly to beat Helene Feeling by half a length. His fifth behind Le Zonda start prior was also better than the market expected after making ground from well back. Tougher grade, but the profile is still strong.

Was safely held in the G2 Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy (Handicap) at this track last start, finishing seventh and beaten just under four lengths at big odds after failing to sustain his run. His previous fifth in the G3 Celebration Cup was sharper, beaten just over a length, and he has won twice from four starts around this distance. Must improve sharply to win this.

Finished last in a Class 2 at this track second-up, beaten nine lengths after remaining at the rear, and that performance makes him hard to trust. The positive is his proven record at this track and distance, with two wins and two places from eight attempts, while the drop from 61kg to 54kg is helpful.

Improved when third behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley last start, beaten just under two lengths as an outside chance in the betting. His seventh to Le Zonda start prior was also within range, but he now faces a tougher black-type assignment and must reverse a recent margin with a key rival.

Worked home evenly for fourth behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley last start, beaten two lengths as an outside chance in the betting. His previous ninth in the G3 Premier Plate at this track was not far away in margin terms, beaten just under four lengths by Beauty Joy. Wide draw makes the win harder, but place claims remain.

Was sent out favourite when fifth behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley last start, beaten just over two lengths, so the market expected more. The start prior win at Happy Valley was genuine, beating Sagacious Life by a head in Class 2 company, and he has two wins from five starts around 1800m. Can bounce back to his best form with a big weight swing in his favour.

Made some late headway when sixth behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley last start, beaten just over two lengths after being near the top of betting. His ninth to Le Zonda start prior was only beaten three and a half lengths, so he is not miles away, and he has won once from five attempts around 1800m. More a place hope than a clear winning threat.

Was well held when ninth in a Class 2 at this track last start, beaten six lengths after being pushed along wide into the straight. His previous seventh at Happy Valley was also a long way off the winner, though he did have no clear running early in the straight. Light weight helps, but others bring stronger current form.

Went much better last start when third in a Class 2 at this track, beaten a length and a half at generous odds after waiting for a run turning for home. His start prior seventh behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley was less convincing, but three wins from seven starts at this track and distance is a strong positive. The class rise is the sticking point.

Finished sixth in a Class 2 at this track last start, beaten three lengths after being unwanted in the market, and that followed a second-last placing behind Massive Sovereign at Happy Valley. His track-and-distance record is respectable, with two wins and a placing from seven starts, and Angus Chung has won twice on him.
