Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Returns from a ten-month spell with a strong overall record, but the long absence makes this a demanding assignment under 61kg.

Has been close without winning in two 1200m runs this campaign, most recently fifth at this track when beaten just over a length by Ka Ying Attack. He was also only two lengths from Victor The Winner first-up and now reaches a distance where he has won twice at this venue. Proven at this track and distance, so he gets his chance.

Closed off well when fourth in the G2 Premier Bowl at this track, beaten just under two lengths by Raging Blizzard after beginning awkwardly. That was a better effort than his ninth to Victor The Winner when also making late ground, and he now comes back from Class 1 company. A genuine place chance if he repeats that effort.

Returns from a five-week let-up after going under by a nose as favourite at this track first-up. That followed a win at this venue when he beat Magic Control by just under a length, and his six-start career record of four wins and one placing is hard to knock. Strong place profile with winning upside.

Returns from a six-week freshening after a plain tenth at this track, beaten just over three lengths by Victor The Winner at long odds. His previous fourth to Rising Force was sound enough without threatening, and he gets weight relief for this. Track-and-distance record keeps him in the place discussion.

Returns from a five-month break after finishing last at Happy Valley, beaten over 18 lengths by Le Zonda in a run that is hard to overlook. He had been much better the start prior when second at this track, beaten half a length by Soleil Fighter, and his overall placing rate is respectable. His earlier second at this track offers hope, but he must lift sharply.

Had limited room when trying to improve before finishing fifth in a Class 3 at this track, beaten two lengths by Baby Sakura. That was a fair step back in the right direction after his ninth to Sky Jewellery, and his one win and two placings from six starts at this track and distance read well enough. Class rise caps the confidence, but a placing is within reach.

Ran well when second to Chill Easy at this track over 1600m, beaten just over a length after following the winner into the race and finishing solidly. He had also been held up before running fourth to Sky Jewellery, so his recent form has more merit than the bare results. Reliable for exotics, but the win record is the query.

Second-up effort was plain when ninth in a Class 3 at this track, beaten four and a half lengths by Baby Sakura after being unable to improve from midfield. He was also 11th over 1600m the run prior, so the recent pattern is not strong enough for this rise. Weight relief helps, but others bring better claims.

Resumed with an excellent third in a Class 3 at this track, beaten only a neck by Baby Sakura at big odds. He has also shown higher-grade depth, having contested The Met (G1) at Kenilworth earlier, and his career record of four wins and six placings from 14 starts is strong. Class rise is there, but he can win.

Returns from a six-month break with an unbeaten four-from-four record, including a win in the G1 25 de Mayo - Copa Dr. Enrique Olivera at San Isidro over Curious Song. He also won a CG ALW at the same venue as favourite before that, so the talent is obvious. First local run and first 1400m attempt make him risky.

Kept fighting when fourth in a Class 3 at this track, beaten a length by Baby Sakura after being headed 200m out. The start prior he beat Circuit Champion by a nose in the same grade, and his 1400m record at this venue is deep: six wins and four placings from 21 starts. Class rise is the test, but the light weight suits.

Returns from more than a year away after finishing second in the G1 Jockey Club de Sao Paulo at Gavea, beaten half a length by Zucca Baby. He had won a G1 at Cidade Jardim the start prior and is two from two around 1400m, so the raw form is appealing. First local run makes him hard to assess.

Resumed with a strong second at this track in Class 3 company, beaten half a length by Grand Eagle after being well-supported as favourite and covering ground into the straight. He had won his previous start at this venue by just under two lengths from Embrace Aberdeen. New trip is the question, but he has the class and weight to win.
