Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing tenth at this track last start, beaten just under three lengths behind Kol after being forced to steady and then lacking the pace to challenge. He was also tenth the start prior, beaten four lengths, and was unwanted in the market both times. The last-start check helps explain part of it, but he must lift.

Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing last at Happy Valley, beaten just over six lengths by New Power after fading late. His ninth the run prior was also plain, and he went around at big odds on both occasions. The claim helps, but his 1200m record and recent form are clear knocks.

Returns from a six-week let-up after winning at this track, beating Little Monster by a length and a half as a well-supported favourite and putting the race away early in the straight. His fourth to Kempes two back had merit after he lacked clear running early in the straight. Purton stays with him and the profile reads like the one to beat.

Makes his debut without race form, so the betting will be an important guide. The stable has had one winner from 15 debut runners in the supplied sample, and Jerry Chau's 1kg claim is a small positive from a broader setup view. Market will guide, but he profiles as a place hope.

Debuts as a NZ$700,000 purchase and the pedigree gives him genuine interest, with Zourion a G2 winner and Pearl Of Alsace also bringing strong black-type depth to the family. Caspar Fownes does not have a dominant debut profile from the supplied sample, but the bloodlines are better than average for a first starter. Clear upside if ready.

Worked home best late when eighth at this track last start, beaten just over two lengths by Ace Eagle, which was better than the finishing position suggests. Two back he was ninth after racing keenly and failing to finish off when asked. Still a maiden, but the set-up gives him a strong chance.

Returns from a five-week let-up after a sound first-up fifth at this track, beaten two lengths by E Ho Ho after making steady ground late. His only other start was a ninth on debut, so there is still limited evidence and no placing yet from two runs. Lightly raced and capable of filling a place.

Has been around the mark in stronger recent form lines, finishing fifth at this track last start when beaten just over two lengths and starting near the top of an open market. The start prior he chased Apex Glory home, beaten a length and a half, and that reads well again. Track-and-trip winner with a 3kg claim, so he is a genuine danger.

Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing eighth at this track, beaten two lengths by Kol after hanging in early in the straight. His previous run was an 11th, beaten just over six lengths, and he remains unplaced from three starts overall. Still unplaced from three starts, but the latest run gives him a place chance.

Finished eighth first-up at this track, beaten just over three lengths after sitting on the pace and failing to quicken. His previous run was a much weaker tenth, beaten seven and a half lengths, so the recent form is only fair. Better suited to a place ticket than a win bet.

Has been safely held at both 1400m runs this campaign, finishing seventh last start when beaten just over five lengths at big odds after a ninth by the same margin. The return to 1200m is more suitable on his broader record, and Karis Teetan has won on him before, but he is unplaced in six tries at this track and distance.

Finished last at Happy Valley three weeks ago, beaten six and a half lengths by Virtus Glory after fading late. His seventh at this track the start prior was also at long odds, and he has been unplaced in all five starts. This venue has not brought improvement so far.
