Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Resumed with a strong second at this track, settling midfield and making ground to be beaten just under a length by Pope Cody while near the top of betting. His overall record of three wins and four placings from 13 starts is sound, and he has a win and a placing from four runs at this distance. Zac Purton staying aboard adds confidence that he can go one better.

Returned in winning order at this track three weeks ago, starting favourite and beating Dazzling Fit by just under a length. That followed a strong second in a Class 2 at this venue behind Le Zonda, so the recent form has real substance. Proven at this track and trip, so he is a major winning threat again.

Returns from a six-month spell after finishing third at Sha Tin on soft ground, beaten just under three lengths after working forward and sticking to the task. The run prior was plain, but his record at this track and distance is a major stabiliser with one win and three placings from six attempts. First-up fitness is the query, but his best form keeps him in the placing mix.

Resumes after three months off following a close third at this track, beaten just over a length at big odds. His previous run was only fair, but he has already won at this distance and owns a useful record at this venue. Apprentice claim helps, and he profiles as a live winning hope.

Was sound when fifth first-up at Sha Tin over 1400m, leading and working home evenly to be beaten two and a half lengths. He has been a reliable performer over the past 12 months and has a strong record with Nichola Yuen, while the 3kg claim is useful. The 1650m record is the query, but recent form and the 3kg claim keep him in the hunt.

Finished eighth behind Pope Cody at this track three weeks ago, beaten just over three lengths after offering nothing extra in the straight. He had run second here the start before at generous odds, so there is some ability in the mix, but he was also beaten by key rivals last time. Wide draw and recent finish make him hard to trust.

Returns from a four-month break after ending last campaign tailed off at this track, where he lost ground early and was detached before the turn. He had won a Class 4 here the start prior, beating Precision Hope, and his track-and-distance record is good enough to respect. Earlier Class 4 win gives some hope, but he has to rebuild trust quickly.

Was safely held first-up at Sha Tin, finishing second last and beaten just over five lengths when long odds. He had won a Class 4 there before the break as favourite, so the best version is more competitive than the latest run suggests. Place claims only.

Returns from a four-month break after finishing seventh at this track, beaten two and a half lengths as a well-supported favourite. He had won a Class 4 here the start prior from Withallmyfaith and is well suited back around 1650m, where he has two wins and a placing from five starts. Can feature on resumption.

Worked home without threatening when seventh at this track last start, beaten six lengths, and there was no clear excuse in the run. He did win a Class 4 here two starts ago as favourite and his track-and-distance record reads well from a small sample. Others make more appeal.

Returns from a four-month break with recent form that reads only fairly, finishing ninth at Sha Tin after being one-paced and seventh there the start before. He is a previous track-and-distance winner and has placed twice this season, but the out-of-form tag is hard to ignore. Needs to lift.

Finished last behind Pope Cody at this track first-up, beaten just over four lengths after settling midfield. His prior fourth at Sha Tin had more merit, as he had to wait for a run and was short of room when trying to improve. More a placing chance than a winning threat.
