Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Returns from a three-month break after ending last campaign with a fourth at this track, beaten two and a half lengths, when short of room near the top of the straight. The run prior he beat Beauty Show by half a length at this venue, and two wins plus two placings from eleven tries at this track and distance give him a solid platform. Strong chance from barrier one.

Backs up after six days following a last placing at Sha Tin, where he was beaten just over eight lengths at long odds. His 12th in a Class 3 two back had a little late ground after a bump, but the market has wanted little to do with him this campaign. Must lift sharply.

Second-up after an eighth at this track, beaten three and a half lengths, when he began awkwardly, was bumped and settled rearward. Not here.

Has put two strong runs together this campaign, finishing second and third at this track behind Jumbo Blessing and beaten under a length then just over a length. He was again well found in betting last start, and Zac Purton going on gives him the right profile for another peak effort third-up. Still a maiden, but his current form makes him the one to beat.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing tenth at this track, beaten just under five lengths, at the end of last campaign. Drawn well but others make more appeal.

Can be given another chance after failing badly first-up at this track, where he led and faded to finish last as a well-supported favourite. Better than he showed last start and can improve quickly.

Makes his race debut for David Hall and has first-time blinkers, which is the clearest positive signal in a profile without race evidence. By Star Turn and drawn midfield, he gets a fair enough starting point, while James Orman takes the ride. Market may guide, but a placing is within reach.

Brings the most consistent recent profile, with a second and third at this track this campaign, both behind Jumbo Blessing. He was beaten a length last start after working home evenly and had been near the top of the betting again. Maiden status is the query, not the form.

Returns from a four-month break after a promising debut third at Sha Tin, beaten just over a length at long odds, when he finished off strongly through horses. That single run also came at 1000m, so the base is encouraging enough. Debut third at Sha Tin had merit, but one run is a thin base against seasoned rivals.

Resumed with a tenth at Sha Tin over 1200m, beaten just under four lengths, after a sluggish start and some keenness in the run. He had also finished tenth there before the break, beaten six lengths at long odds, so the winning edge has been missing for some time. Minor-money hope at best.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing sixth at this track, beaten five lengths, when unwanted in the market and doing some late work. His previous start was a second-last at Sha Tin, beaten over 16 lengths, so the overall race record remains thin. Has to find more.

Improved first-up when fourth at this track, beaten a length and a half by Jumbo Blessing after leading. His fifth at this venue before the break was also sound enough without threatening, but the broader record remains a concern: no wins or placings from six starts and unplaced in all five attempts around 1000m. Wide draw and winless record keep him more a place hope.
