Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Made late ground first-up when fifth in a Class 3 at this track, beaten two and a half lengths by Pope Cody after starting at big odds. That was a better pointer than his previous Class 3 sixth, and he now drops into Class 4 with a strong record of three wins and six places from 19 starts at this track and distance. Wide draw is the query, but he can place.

Had genuine excuses when fourth at this track last start, beaten three and a half lengths after being blocked when trying to challenge. The run prior was a close second to Shamz, beaten half a length after racing prominently, so his recent form is strong enough for this. Drawn one and race-fit, he looks a strong winning chance.

Was only fair when eighth at this track last start, beaten five lengths by Mighty Steed after coming under pressure late. His previous fifth was also well held, so the recent form has to lift despite a deep track-and-distance record of three wins and 12 places from 29 starts.

Returns from a three-month break after closing off for fourth at this track, beaten just over a length behind Shamz after being shuffled back and forced wide late. He had also made steady late ground here the run before, and his broader 1650m profile is sound with three wins and six placings from 21 attempts around the trip. A minor-money chance if he returns in order.

Was safely held first-up at this track over 1800m, finishing sixth and beaten just over four lengths after settling handy and fading late. Two back he was 11th at Sha Tin at big odds, so his recent profile is not convincing.

Back after one month following a debut last at Sha Tin over 1200m, beaten nine and a half lengths after settling at the tail and never getting involved. He was unwanted in the market there and now tackles 1650m for the first time, which is a genuine new test on race evidence. Improvement is required before he appeals.

Was unwanted in betting and faded into seventh at this track last start, beaten just under six lengths by Amazing Gaze. That followed a heavy defeat at Sha Tin when last and finished well held, so the current form trend is a clear concern. Others make stronger appeal.

Returns from a three-month break off a solid third at Sha Tin, beaten two and a half lengths by Packing Fighter after being an outside chance in the betting. The run prior also reads well, finishing fourth to Forever Folks when held up until the 300m. Proven around 1650m and brings the strongest profile.

Returns from a six-month spell after finishing fifth at Sha Tin, beaten just under four lengths by Big Return. His previous fourth at this venue was more competitive, beaten two lengths after disputing the lead before peaking late. Track-distance record helps, but his recent win strike-rate is the concern.

Finished fourth as favourite at this track first-up, beaten just over a length by Mighty Steed after being bumped and coming under pressure late. He was also third at this venue two back, though no threat to Forza Toro after racing wide throughout. Still a strong chance despite the maiden tag.

Comes in race-fit after finishing seventh at this track over 1200m, beaten just over two lengths when unable to quicken from midfield. His prior ninth at Sha Tin was only even, but the return to 1650m is a much better fit given two wins and four places from 11 starts at this track and distance.

Returns from a three-month break after a good third at this track, beaten a length behind Shamz when held up back in the field and finishing well late. The run prior at Sha Tin was less sharp, finishing seventh after racing keenly and failing to quicken.
