Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Second-up after a Class 4 eighth at this venue, where he faded late and was beaten four and a half lengths by Romantic Fantasy. The better guide is his previous third at this track, beaten a neck behind Take Action in the same grade. Drops into Class 5, draws well, has Zac Purton aboard and owns a win plus four placings from 14 starts at this track and distance. Proven at this track and distance, so his best form makes him the horse to beat.

Resumes after a four-month break following a plain end to last campaign, finishing last at Sha Tin when beaten nine and a half lengths by Forever Folks. He had also struggled at this venue the run prior, finishing second last at long odds. Not here.

Made only minor late ground when ninth first-up at Sha Tin over 1400m, beaten just under five lengths by Draco after being unwanted in the market. He was also well held in Class 4 company two runs back, finishing seventh and beaten eight and a half lengths. Has yet to show enough at this trip.

Resumes after a four-month break, having ended last campaign with a ninth at Sha Tin when fading late behind Victor Supreme. His prior second at this venue reads much better, as he was well supported, hit the front and stayed on to be beaten two lengths by Kyrus Treasure. Clear danger if ready to fire.

Worked home only fairly when seventh in Class 4 company at this track first-up, beaten just over four lengths by Romantic Fantasy. That was similar to his previous eighth here behind Kyrus Treasure, where he was near the top of an open market but found nothing extra late. Would need to improve but it's not out of the realms of possibility.

Was bumped early and finished one-paced when tenth first-up at Sha Tin over 1400m, beaten just under four lengths by Rattan Galaxy despite being unwanted in the market. His overall profile remains light, with no placings from seven starts, but the margin last time was not severe and the apprentice claim is some help. The claim helps, but place claims are the ceiling.

Has been beaten a long way in both runs this campaign, finishing last at this track over 1650m last start behind Red Brick Warrior after fading late. The previous Class 4 effort here was also poor, beaten over 11 lengths by Romantic Fantasy when unwanted in the market. Third-up fitness is not enough on current form.

Resumes after a four-month break following an eighth at this venue over 1650m, where he made no impression late and was beaten six lengths by Legend Winner. The run prior was worse, finishing last and well beaten after racing wide and hanging out badly. Can't have him.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a sound sixth at Sha Tin over 1600m, beaten just under four lengths by General Smart after tracking forward and tiring late. He had been favourite two back when fifth behind Beauty Missile, so the market has respected him recently. Maiden record is the query, but he is in the mix.

Returns from a one-month freshening after being beaten seven and a half lengths at Sha Tin, where he was unwanted in the market and made no impression behind General Smart. His previous run at this venue was better on paper, beaten four and a half lengths behind Kyrus Treasure, though he again finished second last. More a minor-money chance.

Made some ground when seventh at this track over 1650m last start, beaten five and a half lengths by Red Brick Warrior after being unwanted in the market. That was an improvement on his second-last at Sha Tin, where he missed the start badly and never got involved. Recent margins are a concern, but he can lift into the placings.

Improved last start when fifth on the Sha Tin all-weather over 1200m, working home evenly from midfield and beaten three and a half lengths by Wave Garden at big odds. That was a better return than his tenth at this venue two runs ago. First go at 1800m is the query, but he has upside.
