Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Backing up quickly after finishing last at Sha Tin, beaten over 11 lengths behind E Ho Ho at long odds, leaves him with plenty to prove. His earlier seventh at this venue was better, beaten just over three lengths after having little extra late, and he does have three wins and four placings from 18 starts at this track and distance. Proven at this track and distance, but recent form has to lift sharply.

Resumed with a much better effort when third at this track, beaten just under two lengths by Bright Day despite being unwanted in the market and having to switch in the straight. That was a clear step back towards form after his Class 3 failure at Sha Tin, where he was last behind Sovereign Fund after covering ground. Has place claims if he holds that level second-up.

Had every chance first-up when fifth at this track, beaten three and a half lengths by Live Wire after tracking the speed and weakening over the final 150m. The run prior is the key reference: he beat Loving Vibes by just under two lengths at this venue, travelling kindly and winning with authority at big odds. Blinkers go on and he can bounce back strongly.

Resumes after a four-month break with two even Sha Tin sixths behind him, each beaten two lengths. He was big odds on debut behind Conrad Patch, then again ran soundly enough behind Ka Ying Resilience after settling rearward. Wide draw makes it tricky, but he can run into a placing.

Had more merit than tenth suggests first-up at this track, beaten only three lengths after being slowly away, held up at the tail and unable to get into the race behind Bright Day. His previous Sha Tin run was plain on paper, but he has won at 1200m and Karis Teetan has been aboard for his only win. Draws better, visor goes on and he can rebound hard.

Was not far away first-up when sixth at this track, beaten just under three lengths by Robot Lucky Star, though he did fade late and had no obvious excuse. His previous fifth at this venue was similarly honest, beaten just over two lengths after working home evenly. More a solid place chance than a runner to declare.

Resumes after a three-month break following a better fifth at this track, where he was beaten two lengths by Winning Champion at long odds and ran on evenly after taking time to respond. That came after a plain ninth at Sha Tin behind Absolute Heart. Last-start fifth was sound, but his 1200m record keeps him to place claims.

Finished ninth over 1000m at this track first-up, beaten just under five lengths by Jumbo Blessing at big odds, so the latest run still asks for improvement. He had won a Class 5 over the same shorter trip at this venue before the break, beating Country Dancer as favourite, and he does have a 1200m win on the record. Must lift to trouble the main chances.

Produced the standout recent figure when winning a Class 5 at this track by just under five lengths from Lakeshore Hero, doing it despite being unwanted in the market and making a strong run into the race. The rise to Class 4 is the test, but he drops in weight, has drawn to get every chance and already owns a win at this venue. Strongest recent form and the one to beat.

Continued a consistent run of form when second at this track, beaten a length and a half by Live Wire after chasing strongly from the 200m. He had been third at this venue the start prior, beaten just under a length by The Perfect Match, and has now placed three times from seven starts at the track and distance. Maiden status is the knock, but he is right in this.

Resumes after a four-month break following two heavy defeats at Sha Tin, the latest when last behind Master Lucky, beaten over 16 lengths after becoming detached early. He was also beaten over 11 lengths by Oldtown the run prior and has not placed in four career starts. Blinkers go on, but the race form is hard to support.

Had excuses when fifth at this track last start, beaten just under three lengths by Bits Superstar after waiting for a run around the home turn. That was a better effort than his previous Sha Tin 12th, where he was beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds. Still has to improve on recent figures.
