Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Went within a neck of China Win at Happy Valley last start, working up from a wide draw to sit near the lead and fighting hard before being caught late. His previous third behind Fortunate Son was sound enough, and he is now third-up with Zac Purton taking the ride. The 2000m win record is thin, but his form reads strongly for this.

Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing last at Happy Valley, beaten over 18 lengths, when he settled midfield and offered little late. That was a sharp contrast to his prior nose win over Stormi, where he was sent out favourite and finished strongly. Prior win was sound, but 2000m is new and a sharp rebound is required.

Returns from a five-week freshening after a plain tenth at Happy Valley, beaten over 14 lengths after coming under pressure late. The counterpoint is his fifth in the G3 Premier Plate at this venue two back, beaten just under two lengths in Class 1 company, and his track-and-distance record is solid.

Lifted second-up when fifth to China Win at Happy Valley, beaten two lengths, and that was a better effort than his earlier eighth behind Fortunate Son. He is third-up now and drawn to get a more economical run from barrier two, which helps his case. The 2000m record is the query, but he is a live chance.

Put the race away sharply at this venue last start, beating Forever Folks by two and a half lengths over 1800m after quickening from midfield. That followed a fifth behind Packing Fighter when he was beaten seven and a half lengths, so the latest win was a clear step in the right direction. The new 2000m trip is the question, but he has claims.

Faded into seventh behind Big Return at this track first-up, beaten just over five lengths after proving one-paced late. He did win at this venue before that, beating Enthusium by just under a length at big odds, and he is unbeaten in two runs at this distance.

Made some late ground for fourth behind Big Return at this track last start after beginning awkwardly, though he was still beaten just under four lengths at big odds. His previous eighth behind Baby Sakura was also safely held, and he is unplaced in seven starts this season.

Dropped out to finish last behind Big Return at this venue first-up, beaten over 12 lengths after coming under pressure before the straight. His prior seventh behind Call Me Magnifique was more competitive, beaten just over two lengths, but he has only one win from seven at this track and distance. A return to his better run two back would be required.

Was unwanted in the market and finished eighth behind China Win at Happy Valley last start, beaten just over four lengths after settling back and making only fair ground. His previous sixth behind Fortunate Son was similar, and he is unplaced in three runs at this track and distance. James Orman helps, but improvement is required.

Resumed in excellent order at this track, winning a Class 4 over 1800m by a length and a half from Victor Supreme after taking over early in the straight and keeping on strongly. That backed up his previous Class 4 win here, and he now gets clear weight relief while holding a strong record with Derek Leung. Clear top seed despite the grade rise.

Faded to finish eighth behind Packing Fighter at this track first-up, beaten eight and a half lengths over 1600m, so the recent line needs some improvement. He was much better when fourth behind Call Me Magnifique two back, beaten a length after settling midfield, and weight relief helps. Track record keeps him as a place hope only.
