The run prior was plain when last behind Victor The Winner, but this is a softer Class 3 assignment and the apprentice claim offsets some of the 61kg. Proven at 1200m and capable of running into the minors.

Resumed with an eighth at this track, beaten two and a half lengths behind Absolute Heart after being pushed along wide into the straight. Before the break he beat Crossborderpegasus by a nose at this venue, showing he can win in this grade range. Top weight makes the win harder, but a placing is within reach.

Has built a strong platform with two Happy Valley thirds this campaign, most recently beaten just under three lengths by The Heir after making late ground without threatening the leaders. His prior third behind Ace Champion also had substance under a big weight. Brings the right form to be the one to beat.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last preparation with a fifth at Flemington in Open company, beaten three lengths by Getta Good Feeling after settling rearward and unwanted in the market. He had earlier won a BM66 at Pakenham as an odds-on favourite, closing from back in the field. Strong profile, but has to transfer that form to this local assignment.

Has been around the mark this campaign without winning, finishing fourth then seventh in two 1000m runs at this track. Last start he began well but faded late behind Horsepower, beaten three lengths, while the prior fourth behind Alpha Strike had more merit. Looks a genuine place hope.

The run before was much stronger, winning a Class 4 over this course and distance by just over a length from Matzden. Blinkers go on and the track-and-trip record keeps him right in it.

Has been well beaten in both runs this campaign, most recently second last at this track over 1400m behind Celestial Hero after fading late at long odds. Two back he was also second last at Happy Valley and well beaten. Others make much stronger appeal.

His debut win at Strathalbyn in a Mdn showed a turn of foot, beating Goodlookin' Guru by a length, but the local evidence is still thin. Debut win showed some promise, but he has plenty to prove in this company.
