Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Drops back from Class 3 after finishing eighth over 1200m at this track last start, beaten seven lengths by Grand Eagle at generous odds. The start prior was much better when third, beaten a length and a half behind Absolute Heart in the same grade.

Resumed with an even fourth over 1000m at this track, finishing just over three lengths from Ka Ying Lightning as an outside chance in betting. His earlier third behind Ka Ying Resilience showed he can be competitive, and he has two wins at this track and distance.

Returned a different horse second time out, winning at this track by half a length from Ka Ying Radiance despite being unwanted in the market. His only other start was an 11th over 1000m when he faded late, so there is still a small sample to work with. Still lightly raced, but that first-up win gives him a strong platform.

Had a tough run from a wide barrier last start when fourth to Cavamazing, racing very wide without cover before being swamped late and beaten just over three lengths. He had won the start prior by half a length from Virtus Glory as favourite, which reads well enough for this. Barrier 14 is awkward, but he remains a genuine place hope.

Has placed in both starts and was beaten only a neck by Kol at this track first-up, staying on well in a deep 14-horse field. His debut third behind Anode was also sound, beaten two lengths after working home evenly. Progressive 1200m profile makes him the horse to beat.

Found sharp improvement third run back, winning at this track by just under a length from Virtus Glory after picking up strongly early in the straight. His prior ninth over 1000m was plain, though he was only beaten three lengths behind Ruby Thrive. Has to repeat it, but a minor placing is within reach.

Debuts from barrier 1 with blinkers on for the first time, which gives him at least one positive setup point. The David A Hayes debut figures supplied are modest, though the trainer-sire combination reads more encouraging. Others bring stronger evidence.

Made a sound debut at this track when fifth behind Let's Have Fun, beaten just under three lengths after settling back and making good late ground at big odds. He now gets 2kg weight relief and should take natural improvement from that first race-day experience. Clear improver with a winning chance.

Improved at his second start when third over 1000m at this track, beaten two lengths by Ka Ying Lightning after making ground without seriously threatening. He was also close enough on debut, finishing fifth behind Ruby Thrive as favourite. First try at 1200m keeps him more a place hope.

Was disappointing first-up when 11th to E Ho Ho at this track, beaten just under six lengths after settling midfield and failing to run on. His previous fifth behind Healthy Healthy was better, beaten just under two lengths on good to yielding ground. Previous fifth was better, but he has yet to place from three starts.

Has finished fifth at his past two runs, most recently beaten four lengths by Ka Ying Lightning over 1000m at this track after beginning well and working home evenly. The run prior at Happy Valley was more competitive, beaten a length and a half at long odds. More a place chance than a win threat.

Worked home late when sixth over 1400m at this track last start, beaten just over three lengths by Solid Car after racing keenly and lacking the dash to challenge. He was safely held when eighth the run prior and remains unplaced from three starts. Back to 1200m, he looks a minor-money chance.

Resumed with a strong third at this track, beaten just under a length by E Ho Ho after settling rearward and being well found near the top of betting. His previous Happy Valley seventh was fair from long odds, and Zac Purton now takes the ride. The 1200m record is the query, but he is a major chance.

Led and gave a sight when third to Cavamazing at this track last start, beaten just over two lengths at generous odds. He had faded into fifth behind Light Years Glory the run prior, so the latest was a step in the right direction. Winning edge remains the concern.
