Races PRX Sha Tin - HK

Had no clear excuse when second last at this track first-up, fading late after settling prominently and finishing beaten just over eight lengths. The start prior was far stronger, winning a GRIFFIN here by just under four lengths from Jedi Spurs, and his record around 1200m is sound. Strong rebound chance.

Has placed at all three starts and resumed with a solid second over 1000m at this track, beaten two lengths after leading as the well-supported favourite. He was also second to Almighty Warrior in a GRIFFIN here earlier this campaign, and the 3kg claim is useful under 60kg. Reliable track form makes him the one to beat.

Makes his debut by Farnan from Islay Inlet, with Luke Ferraris riding for P F Yiu from barrier 8. The stable has had two debut winners from 21 starters in the supplied figures, which gives some measured context. Some stable merit, but this asks for a sharp first-up display.

Was safely held on debut at this track, finishing ninth over 1000m at long odds after beginning only fairly, settling near the rear and making no progress over the final 400m. He now tackles 1200m for the first time and barrier 1 gives him a more economical draw. Has plenty to find.

Debuts with an appealing pedigree page, being by Churchill and a half-brother to Group 3 winner Unencumbered, while Maharba also gives the family genuine sprinting quality. James Orman rides from barrier 7, but the C W Chang debut record supplied shows no wins or placings from 13 starters. Stable debut figures keep the assessment cautious.

Debutant by Hanseatic from Split Lip who cost $80,000 and draws well enough in barrier 4. Jerry Chau rides with a 1kg claim, while Danny Shum supplies the stable polish for a horse assessed among the key chances despite starting his career here. Profiles as a live first-starter.

Makes his debut as a $400,000 Zoustar gelding from Patricia Dawn, and the family carries useful depth through Sunsource, Dawn Of An Era and Clavel. Pierre Ng's Zoustar figures supplied are solid enough, and Derek Leung takes the ride from barrier 5. Looks a genuine place hope on debut.

Steps out for his first start as a Home Affairs gelding from Mystical Pursuit, with a NZ$200,000 most recent sale price and E C W Wong claiming 1.5kg. Barrier 9 is not ideal, but Manfred Man has a debut winner in the supplied stable figures and the profile has enough substance for this grade. Wide draw is the query, but he has claims.

Debuts by The Autumn Sun from Fire Gully after making $125,000 as a yearling, and the family includes Flying Embers, a four-time winner with a Randwick success. Richard Kingscote rides from barrier 10 for D Whyte, whose supplied debut record shows no wins from 11 runners.

Returns from a five-week freshening after an eighth at Happy Valley, beaten two and a half lengths when long odds and held up for room in the straight after earlier interference. He gets weight relief and had worked home evenly when fourth in a GRIFFIN at this track two back. The 1200m record keeps him to place calculations.

Finished tenth at this track first-up, beaten eight and a half lengths after making no impression late and being unwanted in the market. His debut was also well held in a GRIFFIN here, where he finished last and was beaten over 14 lengths. Weight relief helps a little, but a sharp turnaround is required.
