Races SRX Canberra

Has been safely held at his past two, most recently seventh at Cootamundra over 1400m after settling rearward and keeping on, beaten just over five lengths. He had begun slowly at Goulburn the start prior and was never in the hunt at big odds. Has placed at the trip, but a sharper finish is required.

Comes off consecutive eighths and was unwanted in the market at Kembla Grange last start, beginning slowly before finishing five and a half lengths from Bold Bucks. The Muswellbrook run prior had a bump near the 300m, but he still only worked home fairly. Fourth-up fitness helps, but he has to find more.

Has struggled to get involved of late, finishing seventh at Wagga Riverside on soft ground after settling back and making only limited ground at long odds. She was beaten nine and a half lengths at Queanbeyan two back and again came from the rear without threatening. Hard to recommend.

Has improved through the campaign and was solid third at Orange over 1400m, beaten just over a length after travelling well and only being run down late. Her fourth at this track two back had merit after racing wide without cover. Wouldn't surprise to see her raise the bar now.

Finished strongly from well back to run third at Goulburn last start, beaten just over a length on soft ground after beginning slowly. She had earlier contested a Class 1 at Newcastle over 1850m and only worked home fairly, but the return to maiden grade is suitable. Solid at the mile last start and she won't be far away.

Showed the right improvement second-up when runner-up at this track over 1300m, working home well from a long way back behind Roy Kelton. His Newcastle debut had been plain at big odds, but he is still only two starts into his career and gets to the 1600m for the first time third-up. No match for the winner last start but the rise in trip should help him.

Was close enough to win when fourth at Queanbeyan over 1460m, beaten just under two lengths after racing behind the leaders and starting near the top of betting. His Goulburn debut contained an awkward beginning and greenness, so there is still scope to sharpen. Can improve quickly.

Has been unplaced in all six starts, but his Illawarra Grange eighth two back was only beaten three and a half lengths before he failed to build on it last start when seventh, beaten six and a half lengths. There was no obvious excuse there, so the step to 1600m has to draw out improvement. Place hopes rest on improvement at the new trip.

Brings the best blend of recent form and suitability, having run third at Moruya after beginning slowly and still keeping on well enough to make the frame. Her prior sixth at this venue was better than it reads, beaten only two and a half lengths behind First Assault. Winkers on first time now and she can knock over her maiden now.

Has been beaten a long way in both starts, finishing last at Wagga over 1400m after racing handy enough but offering little in the straight. She was also beaten over 11 lengths on debut at Goulburn and the market has shown little interest. A major turnaround is required.
