Races BRX Gatton

Was slow away and raced wide from the 700m when tenth at Kilcoy, beaten nine lengths by Calvary after settling rearward. The previous Ipswich fifth in a CG BM58 was more competitive on soft ground, but this campaign has tapered. Track record helps, though a clear lift is required.

Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing last in a BM70 at Toowoomba, beaten over 15 lengths after travelling midfield and dropping out. Rough place chance.

Dropped out of the placings at this track in a BM58 over 2000m, finishing ninth and beaten just under five lengths by Quality Miss.

Scored well at Kilcoy last start, beating Final Voyage by a length and a half after settling handy and picking up strongly. That was a sharp turnaround from his Class 2 fifth at Gold Coast, where he jumped awkwardly and was unwanted in betting. A repeat of that finishing effort puts him right in the winning mix.

Had genuine excuses at Ipswich when fourth in a BM58, held up near the 250m and hampered late before finishing just under seven lengths from The Torque Factor. His Sunshine Coast sixth in Class 1 company was closer, beaten two and a half lengths on soft ground. New trip is the query, but he has place claims.

Worked home evenly for third in an FM Class 1 at Toowoomba, beaten just over two lengths by Daiane after jumping awkwardly and striking interference before being held up.

Was held up from the 250m when fifth at this track, beaten two and a half lengths by Water Lad, so there was more merit in the run than the finish suggests. Two back he was beaten a long neck at Beaudesert after starting at big odds. Capable of running well, but the wide barrier makes it harder.

Third-up now after two plain sixths, most recently last of six in a BM65 at Ipswich when leading and weakening to be beaten five and a half lengths. She also lacked the dash to make an impact in a BM58 at Grafton. Place claims only if she finds more late.

Resumed with a seventh at this track, beaten just over seven lengths by Water Lad after settling back and making no late impression. Her final run before the break was also plain in a BM65 at Gold Coast, where she was big odds and failed to finish off. Prior track win helps, but recent form is well short of the main chances.

Closed in on the right race when fourth in a BM58 at Sunshine Coast, beaten a length and a half by Kobability after sitting close and just failing to finish it off. The Warwick sixth in Class 3 grade was sound enough for this level, and her wet-track record is serviceable. Soft-ground record is sound and this looks her chance to break through.

Was sent out near the top of betting in an Open at Tabulam but finished sixth, beaten seven and a half lengths after being hampered shortly after the start. Her Beaudesert third prior was honest without being sharp. Minor claims at best.

Ran second as favourite at Tara, beaten just under two lengths by Vizstar in a small-field picnic race, after winning at Morven over The Stone Mason.

Steps up from a BM50 picnic race at Taroom after finishing fourth, beaten four and a half lengths by Spirit Of Nurai when well found in betting. The Emerald third before that was stronger, as he hit the line after having difficulty getting clear. Place prospects look strongest.

Bounced back to win an FM BM58 at Ipswich, beating Magic Moz by just over half a length after leading and fighting on strongly. That followed a forgive run at Gold Coast, where she was wide throughout and beaten over 10 lengths at huge odds. Looks a genuine threat again.

Arrives in consistent form after winning at Tara, beating Holler Dash by just under two lengths with some market support. He was also close in a BM50 at St George, beaten just under a length despite laying in. Harder company now, but a placing is within reach.

Went close in an Open at Tabulam, finishing second and beaten a length by Millennium Prayer after blundering shortly after the start and racing keenly early. The Kilcoy BM60 run prior was plain over 1900m, but he has solid 1400m credentials with five placings from six distance starts. Right in the winning argument.

Was sixth at Beaudesert last start, beaten just under four lengths by Azuki after jumping awkwardly, and the prior Toowoomba eighth was also safely held. The positive is her record at this track and trip, backed by a strong wet-track profile. Place claims if she rebounds.
