Races BRX Gatton

Closed off well on debut when second at this track on soft ground, beaten just under a length by Brazen Diva after settling rearward. He was sent out favourite, so the result was short of market expectation, but the finish had merit and he already has experience under race pressure. Has each-way claims with natural improvement.

Makes his debut as a Nicconi gelding out of Oozes Class, with barrier 4 giving him a sensible starting point. David Murphy has had a winner from two recent debut runners and Georgina Cartwright takes the ride, while he was a $5,000 yearling purchase. A place case is there.

Debuts as a Better Than Ready gelding from the Jeff Dunn yard and has Les Tilley booked, which is a positive riding engagement. He was a $5,000 yearling purchase and starts from barrier 11, so he may have to do a bit right early. Later.

Starts his career as a Rocker gelding out of Hiroko, with barrier 8 and Julie Busuttin claiming 2kg. That claim helps his starting point, but there is not much else in the profile to push him ahead of the more established chances. Watch the betting.

Debuts for Chris & Corey Munce as a $95,000 Pierata gelding, and that stable brings a solid first-starter record. The trainer also has a productive profile with Pierata runners, while barrier 7 gives Tahlia Fenlon options without being buried inside. Strong debut profile and looks a real winning threat.

Went within a neck of breaking through at Toowoomba last start after beginning well and being claimed right on the post by Happyaziam. That followed another second at Warwick, and he has now placed three times from five starts, including prior placings around this trip. Race fit, consistent and sets the clearest winning standard.

Debuts as a Jonker filly out of Peppi's Girl and cost $30,000 as a yearling. Barrier 5 is workable and William Galloway claims 3kg, giving her some help at the weights. Place improvement is possible, but others look stronger.

Steps out for the first time by Lean Mean Machine from Mishani Allure and draws barrier 3, which is a useful asset on debut. The family has produced Mishani Eclipse, a Doomben winner, so there is some background substance. Keep an eye on the market.

Makes her debut for Kelly Schweida with Kyle Wilson-Taylor aboard, and that combination gives her immediate respect. She is by Better Than Ready and from the family of Casrock, a city winner who won on debut, while the stable has a long-established record with this sire. Wide draw is the query, but she has upside.

Debuts from barrier 1 for Barry Lockwood & Emma-Jane Vincent, and the inside draw gives Anthony Allen a good platform. She is by Jungle Cat out of La Mia Stella, and half-sibling Camelight won on debut at Sunshine Coast, which adds some interest. Profiles as a genuine place hope.

Placed on debut at this track when third to Brazen Diva on soft ground, beaten two and a half lengths after starting an outside chance in the betting. That experience should count second-up, and barrier 2 gives her every opportunity to hold a prominent position. Has the right profile to take another step.

Returns from a five-month break after ending last preparation with a heavy defeat at Hawkesbury, where she finished last and was beaten over 18 lengths. Her prior run at Goulburn was also plain when seventh, beaten five and a half lengths. May need this.

Resumes from a six-month break after closing last preparation with a solid second at Ipswich in Open grade, beaten just under two lengths by Lucky Pat on soft ground. The run prior was much weaker, so she has to reproduce the better Ipswich effort. New stable and a 1.5kg claim keep her in the place mix.

Worked home evenly for third at Warwick last start, beaten just over four lengths by Night Market after racing handy enough. That was a clear step in the right direction after a weaker seventh at Rockhampton, though she was behind Ready As Bam in that Warwick race. Place chance.

Comes out of a Tara Mdn where he finished fifth, beaten nine and a half lengths by Mover And Shaker, and this is a harder meeting. His previous Toowoomba run was also safely held when eighth and beaten just under nine lengths. Only a rough minor hope.
