Races CR Northam

Led to the turn before finishing second last at Bunbury, beaten four and a half lengths by Royal Reflection at long odds. His run prior at this track on heavy ground was plain, beaten over 11 lengths after settling prominently. Can improve under this scenario.

Came up just short when second at this track, beaten a neck after beginning only fairly and being hampered passing the 350m, then charging late. His previous run in the Listed Perth Stakes at Ascot was better than seventh reads, beaten just over three lengths after knuckling at the start and racing keenly. Impressive from the back on resumption and he can go one better with that run under his belt.

Improved sharply at his second start when second to Roger in a 3yo+ Maiden at Belmont Park, beaten just under two lengths after travelling well and working home evenly. That was mid-week company and he now finds an easier assignment, with the same rider back and race fitness building third-up. Much better last start and that form has already been franked.

Showed enough on debut when third at Bunbury, beaten two and a half lengths by Angel Express after pressing forward and leading to the turn. He had won a 950m Lark Hill trial beforehand, so that early speed was no surprise. Open to improvement, but the late fade keeps him in the place mix only.

Makes his debut with limited public evidence to recommend him strongly. He trialled at Lark Hill two weeks ago, finishing seventh over 950m, after an earlier third in April. Hard to push ahead of the raced form.

Debuts after four Lark Hill trials, the latest a second over 950m, so he has at least been given a solid grounding. Barrier two is useful and Ross Price has a debut winner from the supplied six-runner sample, while the family includes city winner Pin Maher. Happy to bet around him on debut.

Made a promising start when second at this track in a 3yo+ Maiden, beaten just over a length by Reginetta after jumping fairly and finishing strongly. She was at generous odds there, so the performance carried more substance than the market expected. Looks better suited by the rise in trip and with a favourable set up in this, she can put her best foot forward.

Was last at Belmont Park first-up in a 3yo+ Maiden, beaten just over eight lengths after being prominent and offering little late. Her debut at Ascot in a 2yo Maiden was also a last, beaten just over six lengths when unwanted in the market. Blinkers and class relief help, but a sharp lift is required.

Makes her debut with a profile that demands respect, headed by a close second in her latest 950m Lark Hill trial. William Pike takes the ride from barrier one, and Michael Grantham's supplied debut record is strong at six wins from 25 starters. The trainer-sire combination also reads well, while half-brother Just Famous has won five races. Comes from a handy family and her trials coming in suggests he can fire right away.
