Races PRX Happy Valley - HK

Stayed on late for fourth in a Class 4 at Sha Tin last start, beaten just over three lengths after settling midfield and being unwanted in the market. That was a clear improvement on his 12th behind Luck Is Back two runs earlier, and the drop to Class 5 with a 3kg apprentice claim helps offset the top weight. The 1650m record keeps him more in the place mix.

Has been working home from back in the field without threatening, finishing ninth at this track last start over 1200m after a sixth at Sha Tin. He drops from Class 4 and has won with Angus Chung before, but this is his first attempt around 1650m and both recent runs came at sprint trips. Others make stronger appeal.

Had little room in the straight until the 100m when sixth at Sha Tin last start, beaten just under four lengths, so that run has more merit than the bare result. He had been beaten only a length and a half at the same venue the run prior, and Karis Teetan returning matters given their win together from four starts. Third-up profile gives him a strong winning case.

Worked home fairly for sixth at this track first-up, beaten just under three lengths behind Cheerful Wongchoy after starting at generous odds. His previous run at this venue in Class 4 also had merit after he was held up from the rear and still finished within two and a half lengths. A minor-money hope if he finishes off.

Worked home evenly for eighth at Sha Tin last start, beaten two lengths, which was a better run than the finishing position suggests. His prior eighth at this track came as favourite and he faded late, so punters have to balance proven track-and-distance credentials against a flat current campaign. Place claims only if he lifts late.

Returns after five weeks off following an 11th at Sha Tin, where he was beaten five lengths at big odds and faded late. He had also faded when sixth at this track the run prior, though he has won and placed at this track and distance and is with Caspar Fownes, the top-ranked trainer for wins at this venue.

Returns after six weeks on the sidelines following a second-last finish at this track, beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds. He was also beaten over 11 lengths at this venue the run prior, so the recent form is plainly below the mark.

Produced a much better first-up run when fourth at this track, beaten two lengths behind Cheerful Wongchoy after being sent around at long odds. That was a clear step away from his second-last finish at this venue in July, when he failed to close off. Honest place chance, winning record the query.

Returns from a four-month break after finishing third at this track, beaten just under a length as favourite behind Fashion Legend. He led and kept working in that run, and his one win and one placing from seven at this track and distance give him a stronger base than most of these. Drawn ideally and proven at this track and distance; the one to beat.

Returns after six weeks off with stronger claims than his latest ninth reads, as he was one-paced home at this track after being beaten six lengths behind Red Brick Warrior. His previous fourth behind Team Happy was much sharper, beaten only half a length as favourite over 1200m, and he has placed four times from eight at this track and distance. Four placings at this track and distance make him a key danger.

Returns after five weeks off following a sixth at Sha Tin, beaten just over four lengths after making ground in the straight from a tricky position. He was closer two runs back when seventh, beaten a length and a half behind Double Bingo, but the market has not shown much confidence in either run.

Was below expectations when sixth as favourite on Sha Tin Aw last start, beaten just over three lengths behind Speedy Trident, and there was no obvious excuse supplied. His second at this track the run prior was much better, beaten just over a length behind Cheerful Wongchoy after making ground from midfield. Still a maiden, yet capable of bouncing back.
