Races MR Pakenham

Resumed with a fourth at Kyneton, beaten seven and a half lengths after jumping awkwardly and settling rearward at long odds. Her debut on Pakenham Synthetic was much weaker, finishing last in a Mdn after being near the top of betting. Minor chance.

Worked home evenly when fourth at Kyneton last start, beaten just under four lengths, though she was unwanted in the market and had every chance behind Tanabata. The run prior at Wodonga was plain after covering ground and finishing sixth. Risking.

Makes her debut for Ben, Will & Jd Hayes with three Flemington trials behind her, the latest a close second over 1000m. That gives her a reasonable foundation for a first race start, and Michael Dee adds further professionalism in the saddle. Should be ready to run well.

Was eighth at Mornington last week, beaten three and a half lengths after racing handy but failing to finish off, and she was beaten over 18 lengths at Cranbourne the run prior. The move from a metro meeting to an easier company setup helps only slightly. Can't have.

Made a better debut than the finishing position suggests at Seymour, beginning slowly, settling well back and being held up from the 300m to the 150m before finishing fourth, beaten three lengths. There is natural upside into her second start. Likely gets back again but will be running on.

Comes here third-up after a Bairnsdale fourth where she jumped awkwardly and was beaten just over seven lengths on soft ground. Her Echuca debut was more encouraging, closing from back in the field to be beaten a length and a half behind Tallingas Chief. Echuca debut reads well, and she gets the chance to turn that promise into a win.

Debuts after three trials, most recently a fourth over 1000m at Moe, and was a $15,000 yearling purchase. The family has produced winners in Chayse 'N' Storms and Masatora, but the stable debut sample supplied is very small and there is no race evidence to lean on. She'll likely be better for the run.

Was fifth on debut in a Cranbourne Mdn, beaten just over six lengths after jumping awkwardly and only battling on from a rearward position. She had won a Pakenham trial the month before and cost $120,000, so there is still scope for improvement from the Moody and Coleman stable. Improvement is likely but place looks best.

Had some excuse when sixth at Cranbourne last start, jumping awkwardly and being steadied shortly after the start before finishing six and a half lengths from Splendacious. That was better than her second-last at Caulfield Heath, where she was beaten over 15 lengths in a F Mdn. Possible improver but she needs to.

Returns from a lengthy spell with a Pakenham trial win to suggest she is ready to resume well. Her debut fourth at Caulfield Heath in Open grade was full of merit, beaten a length at big odds after picking up nicely in the straight. Debut fourth was strong enough to make her a key winning chance despite a tricky map.

Debuts with a strong profile, having finished a close second in her latest Cranbourne trial after a solid series of jump-outs and trials. The Mark Walker stable has useful debut figures, Blake Shinn takes the ride, and the family includes G2 Villiers winner Brutality and G3 winner General Salute. Looks ready to make a strong first impression.

Starts her career after two Cranbourne trials, finishing second before a more recent sixth, and blinkers are applied for the first time. Her family includes South Sea, a city winner at Doomben, and full sibling Purler Patch, a two-time winner. Wide draw and limited trial push make this a difficult first assignment.

Ran home well enough to catch the eye when sixth in a Mdn on Pakenham Synthetic last start, beaten just over four lengths at big odds. The issue is the broader profile: she was also sixth at Geelong the run prior and has managed only one placing from 11 starts. Risking.
