Races MR Pakenham

Has been around the mark without winning, but last start at Warrnambool was only fair when seventh behind Who I Think I Am, beaten just over four lengths after holding his spot to the turn and not quickening. His previous third at Pakenham Synthetic had more merit, and he has placed twice around 1600m. Wouldn't surprise if he improved.

Had a genuine excuse first-up at Geelong, racing three-wide without cover before finishing fourth behind Hedjet, beaten six lengths on soft ground. He was near the top of an open market there, so the run is better than the margin reads. Should be improved for that and might be able to improve for top yard.

Comes off a better run than the finishing position shows, beaten just under two lengths at Mornington after being tightened early and held up from the 200m. Today's easier company is some help, but he was unwanted in that market and his ten-start career has produced no placing. Prefer in easier.

Was held up until the 200m at Warrnambool last start and still made solid late ground to finish fifth, beaten a length and a half behind Who I Think I Am. That was a clear improvement on his Geelong fifth behind Hedjet, where he only battled at long odds. Wide draw is tricky, but he has a solid place chance.

Was safely held on debut at Pakenham Synthetic, finishing seventh behind Autumn Rainbow and beaten just over nine lengths after racing keenly through the early and middle stages. He had trialled last month, so there was some grounding before that first race, but the market sent him out at big odds. First look at 1600m and has to improve sharply.

Made a sound debut at Pakenham Synthetic, finishing third behind Autumn Rainbow after beginning slowly and having plenty to do before closing into the money. He was near the top of betting and is a NZ$600,000 buy from a stable that places them well. Expected to improve given his profile and trainer/jockey combination - hard to beat.

Has been plain in two starts, most recently second last at Ballarat behind Millsy's Award after beginning slowly, covering ground and offering little late. He was an outside chance in betting there, which is a concern given the lack of finish. His debut sixth at Geelong had market respect but also exposed some greenness. Need to see improvement.

Was beaten over 15 lengths on debut at Cranbourne after beginning awkwardly and making no impression from back in the field. That was a plain race-day return despite a close trial second at Caulfield Heath beforehand and he was unwanted in the market. Have to see again.

Shaped with promise on debut at Kilmore, finishing fourth behind Billycart and beaten three and a half lengths after beginning slowly and laying out around the home turn. She had trialled several times beforehand, including a second at Mornington, so there is scope to come forward with the race experience. Expected to improve up in trip now and will take some holding out.

Has done everything but win in two starts, following a debut third at Bendigo with another third at Ballarat, beaten a length by Millsy's Award after travelling well and working home evenly. She was much firmer in market respect second time out and now comes to this third-up with the most reliable exposed form. Third-up with the right profile and grounding to take this out.

Has finished sixth in both starts, most recently at Pakenham Synthetic in a Mdn when beaten five and a half lengths behind Autumn Rainbow at long odds. She kept on there without threatening, while her Ballarat debut showed a little late ground from well back. Can do much better.

Resumed at Cranbourne with a fourth behind Kotahitanga, but the margin was just under ten lengths after she began awkwardly and held her position rather than closing. Her debut at this track in a F Mdn came on soft ground and included some early and late inconvenience, though she still finished eighth. Open to improvement for top yard.
