Races CR Northam

Debuts as a $60,000 yearling purchase with first-time blinkers going on, so the stable has opted for a focused setup at the first public outing. He trialled at Lark Hill a few weeks ago and is from a family that has produced winners, but Kayla Farrell's debut runners are yet to strike from limited attempts. Pedigree has winners, but prefer to see.

Returns from a six-week let-up after fading to eighth as favourite at this track, beaten five and a half lengths by Reginetta after sitting handy. The run prior was much better when beaten a nose at this venue, with a late bump adding context. Last-start favourite flop is the query, but her nose second here prior and track-distance record give her a strong case.

Returns from a lengthy spell after two excellent Belmont seconds, beaten a nose on debut on heavy ground before missing by a head behind Common Touch in Open company. She was near the top of betting both times and has already placed at around 1000m. Wide draw is manageable; she brings the best form.

Resumed with a solid second at this track, leading to the turn and keeping on before Miss Profligacy ran her down late. She had also placed at Ascot before the break when well supported in a Mdn, and her record of five placings from ten starts at around 1000m shows she handles the task. Proven at the trip and consistent enough to make a strong second-up play.

Returns from a lengthy spell after a moderate ninth at Pinjarra Scarpside, beaten just over four lengths when in the market but unable to finish off. Her previous Pinjarra run was similar, close enough at the turn before weakening late. Last campaign tapered off, so she must return sharper.

Returns from a lengthy spell after two Ascot runs that had more merit than the bare form reads. She was beaten just under three lengths on debut, then began awkwardly and raced keenly before closing late when seventh to Le Fem Le Choix, beaten two and a half lengths. The 1000m record is unproven, but she has the talent to hit this fresh.

Returns from a lengthy spell after offering little on debut at Belmont Park, where he tracked the lead and faded to finish second last, beaten seven and a half lengths. His latest second in a Belmont Park trial suggests he has come on, and Chris Parnham is a positive booking. Place claims if he has come on.

Debuts from barrier one with a 3kg apprentice claim, which gives him a tidy first-up setup. His two Belmont Park trials were fair rather than eye-catching, though the Meryl Hayley and Snippetson combination has produced winners from a small sample. Trial form is only fair, so late market support would be the strongest guide.

Makes her debut for Daniel and Ben Pearce after winning a comfortable Lark Hill trial, and the pedigree has substance as a NZ$75,000 purchase from the family of G3 winner Showmanship. That trial gives her a reasonable base for 1000m, but she is still meeting several runners with stronger race performance already on the board. Has appeal, but race experience sits with others.

Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing 12th in Saturday company at Belmont Park, beaten just over eight lengths at big odds and offering little from a forward spot. Her start prior was far stronger, a head second in a Mdn at Belmont Park despite being unwanted in the market. Big watch fresh.

Was sound first-up at Kalgoorlie when third at generous odds, beaten a length and a half after racing prominently and only being run down late. Her previous run before a break was a fifth at Pinjarra when near the top of betting, so she has shown enough to be competitive in this grade. Honest enough for a minor cheque if she lifts again.

Returns from a lengthy spell after a debut third at Belmont, beaten two lengths in a small-field Mdn where she had early contact, laid out on the turn and met interference late. She has since won a Lark Hill trial, which points to a suitable fresh base. Genuine place chance if she returns tractable.

Debuts as a $47,500 yearling purchase for Adam Durrant and has had four Lark Hill trials, the latest a solid third. The family includes Special Heart, who won on debut over 1000m, so there is some early-speed substance in the background. Has grounding, but this looks a test against race-fit types.

Debuts with blinkers and a visor applied first time, suggesting the stable is looking for a sharp response at the races. She was third in a recent Belmont Park trial after two earlier educational hit-outs, and Troy Turner adds experience in the saddle. Has preparation, but must improve on trial margins.
