Races CR Northam

Finished second last in a BM52+ at York last start, beaten five and a half lengths after beginning slowly and settling rearward. He had also been slow away at Bunbury when ninth, beaten just under four lengths. Prefer to see in this line up.

Resumed with a safely held seventh at Geraldton, beaten eight and a half lengths by Black Irish after being close enough at the turn. His previous Mdn run at Pinjarra Scarpside was no stronger, finishing fifth and beaten over 12 lengths at big odds. The wet-track record does little to strengthen his case.

Makes his debut with two trials behind him, the latest a solid third at Lark Hill, which gives him a measured platform to begin from. Chris Parnham taking the ride is a positive, and the pedigree has some staying influence through Sweet Surrender, a city winner over 2100m. Race experience is the query, but he has place appeal.

Has been below her best at both recent Bunbury runs, most recently sixth behind Dynastic Lass when near the top of betting and beaten just under seven lengths without a clear excuse. The run prior was more encouraging, closing from the back to be beaten two and a half lengths by Browning Street. Fiore sticks and has to be included in the main chances.

Produced her best run this campaign when second to Dynastic Lass at Bunbury, beaten just under two lengths after beginning awkwardly, travelling well and working home soundly. She had raced keenly and finished ninth on soft ground the start prior, so the latest effort was a clear step in the right direction. The 1600m record is a query, but she brings the best recent case.

Went close at York last start, finishing third and beaten a long neck by Choux'N'Whiskey after letting down nicely. That was a clear improvement on her Geraldton sixth, where she settled back and was beaten just under four lengths. Place hope at best.

Eases back from a mid-week Ascot assignment after finishing tenth behind Hamadryad, beaten eight and a half lengths at long odds with no clear excuse. Her Bunbury second two back was much better, closing strongly at big odds to get within a length of Producimus and finishing ahead of Spiritart. Gives the impression the step up in trip will suit, place hope.

Hit the line strongly at this track last start, finishing second to Costa Del Darlo and beaten a long neck after settling rearward. That was a much more persuasive run than her earlier eighth at this venue, where she covered ground and was only fair through the line. Sets up well on the quick back up, major threat.

Led and was pipped at the post at York last start, finishing second to Choux'N'Whiskey and beaten a head while well found in an open market. That was a sharp turnaround from her previous run at this track, where she weakened badly and was beaten over 12 lengths. Keep safe in this line up.

Placed on debut at Bunbury, finishing third behind Dynastic Lass and beaten just over four lengths after beginning slowly, racing keenly and being hampered on straightening. First-time blinkers are a relevant gear change and he has drawn barrier one, but this is also his first attempt around 1600m. Should appreciate the extra trip and can show good improvement.

Had genuine excuses on debut at this track, finishing fourth to Unimando after being held up from the 200m and again over the final 50m, leaving him unable to be fully tested. He was unwanted in the market but still beat Squad Goal home there, so the run had substance. Untested at 1600m, but improvement can put him in the placings.

Made a solid debut at York, finishing fourth to Choux'N'Whiskey and beaten just under a length after settling just off the lead and working home evenly. He raced keenly early, so there is natural scope to be more professional second-up, and the weight relief is a genuine positive. From barrier three, he profiles as a key winning chance.

Resumed at Geraldton and finished last, beaten over 12 lengths after leading to the turn before being swamped. Her only other run was also a last placing at Belmont Park in a Mdn, albeit with some tightening near the 800m. Hard to recommend.

Finished sixth in a Mdn at Bunbury last start, beaten just over six lengths behind Moose after working home evenly from the rear at long odds. Her previous Bunbury sixth on soft ground had a similar shape, making some late ground without threatening. Prefer to see in this event.

Closed from well back when fifth at Kalgoorlie last start, beaten just under a length by Peanut Butter, and the stewards noted she was held up near the 150m. That gives the run more merit than the finishing position suggests. Should appreciate the extra trip and has to be respected.
