Races OR Gold Coast Poly

Returns from a four-month break after closing last campaign with a solid Open second at Gold Coast, beaten just over a length by Living Free after beginning awkwardly and racing keenly. He had earlier placed in a Class 4 at Sunshine Coast on heavy ground, though without a sharp turn of foot. The 1150m record leaves him looking more place than win.

Comes back to an easier meeting after failing to come into the race when last in a Class 3 at Doomben, beaten just over seven lengths. His previous BM70 fifth at Eagle Farm as favourite was more encouraging after an awkward start, and the 3kg claim is a useful offset under 59kg. Strong chance to bounce back.

Made a sharp first-up statement in a BM70 at this track, leading and beating Brechen by just under five lengths despite beginning awkwardly. That followed a fourth at this venue last campaign when short odds-on, so the return to his preferred synthetic conditions clearly suited. The rise in grade is the main query.

Had genuine excuses at Eagle Farm last start, jumping awkwardly, racing wide throughout and laying out before finishing seventh in a Class 5. Two starts back she was pipped at Sunshine Coast at big odds after leading, which is the better guide. Quick back-up suits.

Returns from a five-month break after a plain finish to last campaign, when second last at Doomben in a CG BM70 and beaten five and a half lengths by Bluepinot. His prior Beaudesert second in a Class 4 was better, with a hold-up on the home turn adding context. Fresh performance will decide his claims.

Had interference on the home turn and difficulty getting clear passing the 250m when third behind King Of Minto in a BM70 at this track, beaten six lengths. That was a better run than her Gold Coast failure in FM BM78 grade, where she was slow away and made no impression. Place claims only if she sharpens up late.

Has been plain in two runs this campaign, most recently seventh in a BM70 at Warwick when she raced keenly early and offered little late. Her prior Sunshine Coast seventh came after a slow start and she was unwanted in the market. Weight relief is only a small help.

Returns from a five-week freshening after going close at Grafton, where he was second in a BM66 and beaten just over half a length after travelling well into the race. The run prior at Gold Coast was less flattering, though he was wide throughout and beaten just under four lengths. Stronger grade keeps him to a place profile.

Returns from a two-month break after a disappointing Coffs Harbour seventh in a BM66, beaten just over seven lengths after settling back, covering ground and failing to make ground. Before that she won a BM66 at Grafton at big odds, finishing over the top of Constellation. This looks a tougher assignment.
