Races SRX Bathurst

Produced a sound first-up fourth over 1400m at Orange, beaten two and a half lengths by La Chaparron after being near the top of betting. He comes back to 1200m, but has placed at around this distance and gets some help from Jacob Stiff's 1.5kg claim. On the quick turnaround off the fresh effort, but he showed enough there and lands in a suitable race today.

Resumed with a fourth over 1010m at Moruya on soft ground, beaten four and a half lengths by Czech Me after looking ready to come into it on the turn. The step to 1200m asks for a little more after one unplaced try at the distance, but she strips fitter second-up and the 2kg claim is a positive. Good on resumption from a long break and with improvement on the cards, she makes plenty of appeal.

Makes her debut with blinkers applied for the first time, so there is at least one gear angle to consider. She trialled at Canberra last week, following an earlier Canberra Acton trial, but the exposed trial margins leave her with something to prove under race pressure. Race-day evidence is absent, so she has plenty to prove.

Has made a solid start to her career, finishing fourth on debut at Queanbeyan before a third at Dubbo over 1000m behind Patrika Express. She worked home evenly last start and should be at her sharpest third-up, with barrier one also giving her a favourable platform. Looks ready for the rise in trip now and she should get every chance off the inside.

Had genuine excuses at Dubbo last start when second last, beaten nine and a half lengths, after covering ground and racing wide throughout. His previous fifth at this track on soft ground was better, as he made late ground after being tightened at the start and racing keenly. Can bounce back to form in a suitable race this time.

Comes off a second at Young, beaten two and a half lengths by Acrojack, but that was in picnic company and this is a harder assignment. She does get notable weight relief after carrying 65kg and has placed several times around 1200m, though her maiden record is still a concern. Looking to others.

Was sixth at Leeton last start, beaten four and a half lengths by Alice Alice, with a home-turn hampering giving her some excuse. The run prior at Canberra Acton saw her lead into the straight before tiring, and she was unwanted in the market there. Not out of this.

Backing up quickly after finishing second last at Orange, beaten just under five lengths by Kennedy Compound at long odds with no clear excuse. Her Grenfell third two starts ago was more encouraging, beaten a length after attracting some market support. Grenfell placing two back keeps her in the place mix, not the main winning line.

Closed off strongly when fourth first-up at Dubbo over 1000m, beaten just over three lengths by All Saints despite being unwanted in the market. That was a much more encouraging piece of recent form than her last placing at Warren, where she was beaten over 12 lengths. Good off a freshen there and if she runs to a similar level here, she can feature again.

Returns after a one-month freshening following a tenth in a Class 1 at Wellington, beaten over 11 lengths by Maximum Ride after being unwanted in the market. The drop back to Mdn grade is the obvious help, while her Geurie third two starts ago came in a four-runner field and she was still beaten six and a half lengths. Looking to others.
