Races SRX Bathurst

Resumed with a plain sixth at Illawarra Grange over 1200m, settling well back and only keeping on when beaten seven and a half lengths after being unwanted in the market. He does ease back from provincial company and his fourth to Don'T Tell Polly at Wyong on soft ground reads better, but he is unplaced from seven starts and has missed a place at his only try around 1400m. Prior soft-track fourth helps, but the 1400m record is a query.

Was beaten just over a length as favourite at Canberra last start, and the stewards' report of early bumping and interference approaching the 800m gives him some excuse for finishing fifth behind Flying Maurice. He had been well beaten first-up at Hawkesbury, but his overall profile is stronger than that run suggests, with two placings from five starts and previous placings at this track and distance. Wasn't far behind Amahtrom there and that looks the strongest form for this race.

Dropped out to finish last at Hawkesbury over 1000m, beaten just under seven lengths at big odds after offering little once the field turned for home. His debut at Muswellbrook was also well held, with only a fair beginning before he failed to make ground. Must find much more despite the easier meeting level.

Was last at Illawarra Grange last start, beaten over 12 lengths after settling rearward and weakening, with a lost plate noted but not enough to explain the full margin. The run prior was also poor at Hawkesbury when she led and was beaten over 13 lengths. She is race fit and comes back from provincial company, but three previous starts around 1400m have produced no placings. Recent figures leave her up against it.

Turns around quickly after finishing fourth at Forbes, beaten just over a length while near the top of betting. That followed a nose second to Kneel Down at Grenfell, albeit in a small field, so her current form is sound for this grade. The inside barrier and quick back-up both assist, and she has placed twice around 1400m. Won't be far away on his recent form.

Resumed with a fair fifth at Cootamundra over 1100m, beaten three lengths after travelling behind the leaders and holding her ground to the line. She was sixth at Moruya on soft ground the run prior when sent out favourite, so there is enough ability to be competitive in this company. Wouldn't surprise to see her raise the bar.

Comes off an eighth at Hawkesbury in provincial company, beaten six and a half lengths after being blocked early and then failing to finish the race off. Two back she began slowly and raced wide throughout, so there have been excuses, but she was also unwanted in betting both times. A 1400m placing keeps her in exotics only.

Was second last on debut at Illawarra Grange over 1200m, beaten just under nine lengths at long odds after settling rearward and failing to make ground. That race-day evidence is plain, but he is a $400,000 colt who trialled last month and comes from the family of G1 winner Sunshine In Paris, so improvement with experience is plausible. Finds a much easier race this time around and can improve sharply.

Produced the best recent run in the field when second at Canberra, beaten a long neck after settling back, travelling well and launching late behind Flying Maurice. She started an outside chance there yet beat Hellfire Henry, which gives the form immediate relevance. The 1400m is new, but she has scope from only two starts, the winning rider is back, and her debut came in Open grade at Wagga. Solid from the back on resumption and rates highly on that effort.
