Races SRX Bathurst

Led and gave a strong sight at Newcastle last start, finishing fourth over 1250m after being bumped passing the 200m and beaten just over a length by Star Half. His fifth at Illawarra Grange two back was also sound, beaten a length and a half after racing right on speed. Back to country level now and will give them something to chase from the front.

Put in his best run so far when third at Goulburn on soft ground, beaten a length by Low Down after settling prominently and holding on fairly. The market had him at big odds there, so the performance still requires some perspective, and his Nowra run two back was only moderate. A repeat puts him around the minors rather than as a clear win hope.

Returns from a one-month freshening after finishing tenth at Wellington, beaten eight and a half lengths after covering ground throughout. She was also beaten over 10 lengths at Taree two back on heavy ground, again racing wide and failing to finish off. Others rate better.

Makes her debut with three trials behind her, the latest a solid third at Hawkesbury over 1000m. That is a more encouraging lead-up than her earlier Warwick Farm trials, and the trainer-sire combination has produced a healthy place rate from limited numbers. Can play a role.

Has started her career with a fourth at Queanbeyan and a third at Dubbo, so she has at least shown she can compete around maiden company. The concern is that she was beaten four and a half lengths last start after getting a handy run and only working home evenly. The wide barrier makes the task harder.

Resumed with a better effort at Dubbo when fourth over 1000m, beaten just over three lengths at big odds after settling back and charging home late.

Returns from a six-month spell with the strongest upside in the race. His Wyong fifth at his latest run before the break is worth more than the margin, as he was bumped early and could not be properly tested in the straight. Showing enough ability to suggest she can knock off a race of this calibre.

Debuts off two trials, with the latest a close third at Warwick Farm over 792m that suggests he has enough early education to be competitive. The stable has a solid debut record, winning with four of 16 and placing with half of them, which adds weight to the trial profile. Profiles nicely for a race of this calibre and can start his career with a bang.

Starts her career off a comfortable Hawkesbury trial win, scoring by just over a length over 800m, and that gives her a better platform than most debut runners in this field. The inside barrier is another practical advantage, while the trainer's debut figures are sound from a small sample. Recent trial was impressive and if she brings that form into her debut, she'll be hard to hold out.

Returns from a six-month spell after placing twice from three starts in her first campaign. She was third at Kembla Grange at her final run before the break, beaten six and a half lengths at long odds after being bumped early, while her Gosford third prior was stronger as she fought hard after leading. Won't be far away if she can resume in similar order to how she left off last campaign.
