Races BR Sunshine Coast

Worked home from a long way back for third at this track last start, with stewards noting she was steadied and on heels around the turn. The prior second here was also sound after a slow beginning and late hold-up. Knocking on the door and deserves safe keeping.

Resumes from a five-month break after finishing fourth at this venue on heavy ground before the spell, beaten just over eight lengths when unwanted in the market.

Resumes from a four-month break with a Sunshine Coast Inner Track trial placing behind him, which gives his return some substance. He was third at Moe before the spell, beaten just under four lengths as a very short odds-on favourite, after another third at Pakenham Synthetic. The mile looks a good starting point in the new colours.

Was never competitive and beaten out of sight on debut at this track, with an awkward start, keen racing and a check near the 500m all noted. Those incidents give some context, but the margin was severe and the market gave her little chance. Barrier one helps, though a major turnaround is required at 1600m.

Was beaten a length and a half when fourth at Grafton last start, well-supported favourite on soft ground and not far away despite being bumped at the start and laying in on the turn. That was a better effort than his Gold Coast debut seventh, where he kept on from the rear. Has more scope than others.

Was beaten over 11 lengths at this track last start, but the stewards report shows he raced wide early, was checked and later steadied, so there were excuses. His previous fourth here on soft ground was more encouraging, beaten just over two lengths after a slow start. Prior fourth was better, yet the track record and new trip are concerns.

Went close in metro company at Doomben last start, finishing third and beaten just under a length after being slow away and still closing strongly. She had earlier run third at this track when held up from the home turn to the 200m, so the recent form has depth for a Mdn. This looks her best chance yet.

Could only manage fifth at Doomben last start after leading to the turn and working home evenly, and she was near the top of betting there. The run prior was much better, beaten half a length at Doomben when pipped late. This looks easier than that mid-week assignment, with the first try at around 1600m the main reservation. First 1600m attempt is the query, but she's knocking on the door.

Had to do work when wide at Doomben last start and still battled on for fourth, beaten just under four lengths in metro company. Before that she was second at this track, beaten a length and a half after travelling well and finishing strongly despite racing wide throughout. Her previous second at this venue keeps her right in the place mix.

Was unwanted in the market and beaten nine and a half lengths at this track last start, with no clear excuse in the run. Her previous sixth here was more competitive, beaten two and a half lengths after racing handy, but Kindred had her measure in that race. Must produce a much stronger closing effort.

Finished tenth at this track last start, beaten over 16 lengths, though multiple checks and a bump on the home turn give that run some excuse. The concern is that her Dalby fifth before that was also beaten over 11 lengths after racing keenly and failing to go on. The 1600m record is also against her.

Resumed at Doomben with an eighth, beaten just over eight lengths after beginning slowly and making no impression from back in the field. The shift from metro company is a little kinder and she gets weight relief, but her career record of one placing from 11 starts is hard to overlook. Easier company helps, but her maiden record points to a minor hope.

Backs up after six days, which is a query off a Warwick fifth where he was beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds after jumping awkwardly. That was country company and this is harder, while his Taroom fifth two back came in BM50 grade and was also safely held. Blinkers come off, but his overall record leaves him with plenty to find.
