Races BR Sunshine Coast

Comes off a fourth in Open grade at Eidsvold, beaten just over two lengths by Koruto after starting an outside chance in the betting. Two back he was safely held in a BM70 at Thangool when wide throughout and beaten six and a half lengths. The track-and-trip history gives him some grounding, but he rises from picnic company to a harder meeting and will have to lift on recent figures. Preferring others.

Returns from a two-month freshening after finishing third in a BM62 at Geelong, beaten just under three lengths by In'Kantosstar on soft ground. His previous Morphettville Parks run was only fair after starting favourite, so the profile has a slight mixed edge. Has 1200m depth and a claim, but the winning edge remains the query.

Returns from a five-week freshening after being hampered at the start and finishing sixth in a CG BM78 at Doomben, beaten just over seven lengths behind Gram at big odds. The Ipswich run prior was better, closing into fourth in Class 5 company when forced wide on the home turn. Better Ipswich effort prior makes him a place hope.

Won at this track last start as favourite, scoring by a head from Gagnante Enchere after travelling strongly into the race. That followed a solid Class 3 second at this venue behind Cutepi, where he was run down late on soft ground. Genuine place claims again.

Has been unplaced in all four runs this season, the latest a seventh at Eagle Farm when beaten four and a half lengths by Bat Out Of Hell after settling back and only keeping on. The run prior at this track in BM70 grade was not far away numerically, but he still failed to finish it off. His wet-track record is the key positive, yet recent form leaves him looking more place than win material. Looking to others.

Second-up after finishing last in a Class 4 at Beaudesert, beaten seven lengths behind Music Fever at generous odds.

Drops out of Saturday BM70 company after finishing eighth at Eagle Farm, beaten four lengths by Mercian after beginning slowly and coming from well back. Two back she was beaten only two and a half lengths in an FM BM78 at Doomben, so the form is stronger than the bare finishing positions indicate. Class relief gives her a live winning chance.

Returns from a three-month break after ending his last campaign with a seventh at Toowoomba, beaten four and a half lengths by Four Ace at big odds. His previous run was a well-held last in a BM60 over 1640m, with several tractability issues noted. Two wins from five starts at this track is the saving grace, but his recent race form before the break was not strong enough to recommend with confidence. Can't entertain.

Went close in a BM70 at Rockhampton last start, finishing second and beaten a nose by Zedari after settling back and still being well off them at the turn. That was a clear lift on his ninth at this track behind Cutepi, when he started big odds and could not finish off. He has plenty of 1200m experience and some track-and-distance placings, but the wide barrier and uneven profile keep him in the fringe mix. Prefer others on this occasion.

Had a case to be forgiving last start at Emerald, where she was steadied in the straight and finished fourth in a BM62, beaten three and a half lengths after being near the top of betting. The Thangool run prior was a narrow third in BM60 grade, and she now gets weight relief. This is harder, but her 1200m record keeps her in exotics.

Resumed with a strong BM58 win at Warwick, beating Thunderous by just under two lengths as favourite after taking over inside the final 100m. He had finished well held in BM70 grade before the break, but that belongs to the previous campaign. Harder now, but the profile says he can go on with it.

Has been knocking on the door, most recently third at this track when beaten a neck by Vin Santo after starting near the top of an open market. His Ipswich second prior was another narrow defeat, and he has placed in all three runs this season. Track-and-trip form plus first-time visor make him the one to beat.

Ran fourth in a BM70 at Rockhampton last start, beaten two and a half lengths by Zedari after starting a well-supported favourite and settling rearward. That followed an eighth in FM BM78 grade at Gold Coast, where she battled from just off the pace. Class relief helps.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing ninth at Morphettville Parks, beaten two and a half lengths behind Hot Strut after being sent out favourite. The Sandown-Lakeside run before that was plain on heavy ground in FM BM74 grade, but she has had two trials and her latest third at Doomben should bring her on. Last-campaign form was mixed, so a place looks the safer read.

Rebounded at Gold Coast last start, finishing third in a Class 2 and beaten a length and a half by Champagne Lane after being run down late. Her previous Eagle Farm effort was poor after beginning awkwardly, but the latest run puts her back on track. Ben Thompson booking strengthens the case.

Returns from a five-month break after ending last campaign with a seventh at Toowoomba, beaten eight and a half lengths by Royal Bombadier when she found little after sitting close enough. The run prior was much better, a long-neck second behind Black 'N' Deadly as favourite. Best Toowoomba placing reads well, but she is hard to trust fresh.
