Races OR Gold Coast

Was beaten a nose when second in a CG Class 1 over 1200m at Sunshine Coast, and the stewards' note that he was held up on the home turn gives that effort added merit. The step back from his 3yo Open run at Sandown-Hillside is relevant, and he has placed at 1400m before. Apprentice claim helps and he looks a major player stepping to 1400m.

Worked into third at Beaudesert in a 3yo+ Class 2, but he was beaten just under six lengths by Ed I Am and had been unwanted in the market. The previous Eagle Farm run in 3yo Open grade was a long-way last, so the overall profile remains patchy. The 1400m record is modest, so improvement is required.

Had excuses when ninth in a CG Benchmark 78 at this track, beaten just under four lengths after jumping awkwardly and being checked passing the 1200m. His Grafton seventh in a Benchmark 66 was also better than it reads after beginning slowly and picking up late. Forgiving type who rates strongly here.

Returns from a one-month freshening after finishing fourth in a CG Class 2 at Ipswich, beaten just over seven lengths despite making some ground late. He had won a Benchmark 58 there the run prior as favourite, beating The Torque Factor by a neck, so there is some ability in the profile. Ipswich win two back gives him a base, but the last-start margin leaves him with plenty to find.

Arrives in excellent form after winning a 3yo+ Class 2 at Beaudesert by five and a half lengths as a well-supported favourite, backing up his Warwick Benchmark 58 win. He is fit, effective at 1400m and has won three of nine around the trip. Wide draw is the query, but his 1400m record and form are strong.

Finished last in an Open at Dalby, beaten just under nine lengths, after racing keenly through the middle stages and losing his position before the turn. His Ipswich fifth two back had more merit when he made ground from well back on soft ground, but he remains unplaced in three starts at this venue. Unlikely to threaten.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last campaign with a close third at Gatton over 2000m, beaten just over a length as favourite on soft ground. He trialled at Gold Coast last month and handles wet tracks, which is useful for this surface. More a placing chance at 1400m fresh.

Made solid late ground when fifth in a Benchmark 65 at this track, beaten only a length after settling well back. That followed a third at this venue where he was hampered early and still worked into the frame. Brings the strongest all-round profile and is the one to beat.

Resumes after six months off following a seventh in 3yo Open company at Doomben, where she was safely held and unwanted in the market. Earlier in that preparation she won a 3yo Maiden at Doomben on soft ground, beating Our Mate Locky by a neck, and she has had two trials since last racing. Doomben maiden win on keeps her in the place mix.

Returns from a one-month freshening after finishing second last in an FM Class 2 at Ipswich, beaten six lengths after leading and weakening. Her prior sixth in a 3yo+ Class 1 was fair without threatening, though she has since trialled second at Doomben. Past 1400m form helps, but recent race efforts are below the main hopes.

Resumes off a five-week freshening after finishing last in a Class 1 at this track, beaten over 13 lengths after leading and dropping out. The earlier Doomben 3yo Maiden win over 1630m showed she can roll along and fight, but her track-and-distance record is poor with five unplaced attempts. Prior Doomben win is noted, but the track-and-distance record is against her.

Steps up from country grade after finishing fifth in a Grafton Class 1, beaten just over a length when handy but unable to finish it off.

Drops back from mid-week company after racing wide throughout at Eagle Farm and finishing seventh, beaten just under four lengths in a 3yo+ Class 1. The run prior at this track was much better when second to Yes Donald Yes, and she beat Out Of Luck in that meeting. Claims if she backs up cleanly.

Was safely held first-up at Beaudesert, finishing eighth and beaten just under nine lengths behind Ed I Am in a 3yo+ Class 2. Her previous Gold Coast Poly fourth in Benchmark 65 grade was sound enough, and she has placed four times from eight starts at this venue. Venue placings offer a minor positive, but she has a sizeable gap to close.

Finished seventh in an FM Benchmark 78 at this track last start, beaten five and a half lengths after settling back and never really getting into it. Her Lismore ninth in Benchmark 58 grade was also plain, although she does handle wet ground and has three wins around 1400m. Happy to overlook this time.

Ran her best race of the campaign when third in a Benchmark 55 at Beaudesert, beaten just under a length after working home evenly from the back. She had been big odds and safely held in an FM Benchmark 58 at Ipswich two back, so consistency is the question. Track record is sound enough to keep her in the placing mix.
