Races OR Gold Coast

Went within a head of Oohlalouvre in a Benchmark 65 at Sunshine Coast last week, sitting just off the lead and fighting strongly on soft ground. Her Doomben fifth prior was also sound, beaten just under two lengths as favourite after being tightened late. Top weight is the query, but she rates as a strong winning chance.

Improved sharply in Saturday company at Eagle Farm last start, finishing third in a Class 1 and beaten just over half a length after early interference. That was a clear rebound from her previous Eagle Farm run, where she led and weakened badly in a 3-4yo Benchmark 68. A repeat puts her right in the minor-money mix.

Comes off a narrow Class 1 win at Bowraville, beating She's A Wild One by a head after being bumped at the start and fighting on well. Happy to overlook.

Had no chance to show her form at Toowoomba last start, losing the rider as favourite after knuckling on jumping in a Benchmark 65. Her previous Eagle Farm fourth in a 3-4yo Benchmark 68 reads well, as she was at big odds, raced wide throughout and was still beaten only a length and a half. Prior Benchmark 68 fourth had merit, and a clean beginning makes her a major player.

Was not disgraced first-up in Saturday company at Eagle Farm, finishing fourth in a Class 1 and beaten three and a half lengths after being held up near the home turn. That followed a 3yo+ Maiden win at Avoca in March, but she is still unproven as a winning force at 1000m. Easier setup helps, but her 1000m record keeps the view cautious.

Returns from a lengthy spell with a Doomben trial third behind her, which gives her a sound platform for a first-up run. She ended last campaign with a Doomben fourth after beginning awkwardly, and the run prior came in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes where she struck interference. Fresh profile is solid and she brings the strongest winning case.

Has been below her best at the past two, finishing eighth in an NMW at this track after jumping awkwardly and settling well back, then seventh in a 3yo+ Class 3 at Eagle Farm. The class relief and blinkers are positives, and her two wins from six starts at this track and distance are hard to ignore. Place claims if she rebounds.

Won a Benchmark 58 at Dalby last start by a long neck after firming into very short odds-on territory, having been run down late as short favourite in a Benchmark 55 at Toowoomba before that. Her overall and 1000m records are strong, and Les Tilley has already won on her. Harder BM62 test keeps her below the main hopes.

Finished third in a Grafton Class 2 last start, beaten just over half a length after being tightened near the 800m and bumped late. Her Sunshine Coast fourth prior had less force, as she led and was overrun in the latter stages. Winless at the trip, so others appeal more.

Was beaten a nose at this track last week in a Benchmark 58 after being held up near the 250m, so there was clear merit in the run. He had earlier broken through in a Maiden at Coffs Harbour as a well-supported favourite, beating Rubinsky by half a length. Apprentice claim helps, and he looks a genuine place chance again.
