He had earlier run second to Eagle Express at the same venue on soft ground. The 1400m query is real, but the form reads strongly.

Comes off a determined Eagle Farm win on soft ground, scoring from Brindavan by half a length after being prominent in a race near the top of an open market. The Doomben third before that in Benchmark 85 grade had merit given he raced wide throughout and still finished within just under two lengths. Distance remains the query, so place claims look strongest.

Worked home evenly for third behind Kintyre at Eagle Farm last start, beaten just over three lengths at generous odds, after racing keenly early. His previous fourth behind Anemacore was closer, but he again raced keenly and could not go on with it. Needs a sharper closing effort.

Drops out of Saturday company after finishing sixth in a Benchmark 85 at Doomben last week, beaten a length and a half behind Blazing Harry after sitting just off the lead and failing to quicken. He was safely held at Rosehill two back, beaten just over eight lengths on soft ground. Needs more late strength, but has a genuine place profile.

Had excuses when fifth behind Kintyre at Eagle Farm last start, beginning awkwardly, racing keenly and being steadied near the 600m before making solid inroads to be beaten three and a half lengths. Two back he finished strongly for third over 1600m at Doomben, beaten just under a length by Express Payment. Proven at 1400m, but he still needs the race to open up at the right time.

Improved when fifth in a Benchmark 85 at Doomben last week, beaten a length and a half by Blazing Harry despite being unwanted in the market. That was a much better effort than his Murwillumbah tenth over 1550m, where he was beaten over 11 lengths and never threatened. Win drought keeps him to place claims.

Went close here last week when second to Cape Crusader, beaten a neck after being near the top of betting. That followed a Gold Coast win over this track and distance, where he began slowly before finishing strongly to beat Thinkhardandfast by two and a half lengths. This is deeper, so he still has to raise the bar.

Second-up after finishing last behind Kintyre at Eagle Farm, beaten just over five lengths on soft ground after settling back and only working home evenly. His previous run was tenth in the Listed Ipswich Cup over 2150m, beaten five and a half lengths by Kaluakoi at long odds. Needs a clear turnaround.

Resumes from a four-month break after contesting strong fillies' races, most recently fifth in the G1 Queensland Oaks over 2200m at Eagle Farm, beaten three and a half lengths by Fireball Miss after interference and being forced wide late. She had earlier finished sixth in the G2 The Roses at Doomben. Light weight and class drop make her the horse to beat.
