Races CR Northam

Resumes after four months off, having ended last preparation with a third at Kalgoorlie when beaten a length and a half after settling rearward and finishing well. His previous Belmont Park fourth on heavy ground also had merit, as he was held up on straightening before making ground. Recent placings say he is a place hope, but the maiden record keeps the win query alive.

Resumes after eight months off, but his exposed form gives him a clear winning profile for this. He was third at Ascot on soft ground in NMW1Y grade when sent out an odds-on favourite, and two back was fourth in the Listed Placid Ark Stakes after being slow away and running on from well back. Drawn inside and sets the standard.

First starter by Cool Aza Beel out of Secret Sauce purchased for AUD $ 17,500 (Magic Millions 2024 Perth Winter Yearling Sale). Has a total of five trials prior to his debut today. Fitter for recent trials but likely to struggle.

Second-up. First-up after four months raced on the speed throughout before fading 11th of 13 in a Mdn at Bunbury on October 7 over 1200m, 8 len behind Flying In The Wind carrying 56kg at $17. Previously second-up 12th of 14 in a Mdn at Pinjarra on May 13 over 1200m, 4 len behind Big Kay Dog with 55.5kg at $8. Still early in the prep and needs another run or two.

Comes in race fit after a fourth at Bunbury over 1400m, where she was prominent but raced keenly and did not go on late. The run prior was better, finishing second at Bunbury after leading and only being run down late. Wide draw and latest fade are queries, but she has the profile to land in the money.

Has been safely held in both runs this campaign, most recently seventh at this track when beaten over 11 lengths after being slow to begin and making no impression. She was also tenth here first-up after covering ground and failing to finish off. Third-up fitness helps only slightly.

Resumes after eight months off, with two trials behind her and the latest a third at Lark Hill. She ended last preparation with an eighth at Albany on soft ground, beaten just over four lengths at long odds after giving away a big start. Race form remains light and others look stronger.

Resumes after six months off, and her Lark Hill trial win gives some encouragement for a sharper return. She was ninth on debut at Pinjarra, beaten four lengths after racing just off the lead and failing to quicken, while the market gave her little support. Debut was plain at Pinjarra, so improvement is required under race conditions.

Returned with a strong second at this track, beaten just under a length after settling back and finishing off with purpose. That was her first run since contesting the G2 Karrakatta Plate at Ascot, so the fitness improvement second-up is a genuine positive. Her overall placing record makes her a serious winning chance.

Makes her debut with a useful trial base, highlighted by a comfortable Belmont Park trial win after several earlier educational hit-outs. With no race form, the market and parade will add important context, but the stable has at least given her a sound grounding. Race experience is the unknown, but she has enough groundwork for place claims.

Debuts from a wide barrier after three Lark Hill trials, the latest a fifth over 1050m when beaten a little over three lengths.
