Races BR Townsville

Returns with an easy Townsville trial win to suggest he is forward enough for this. He was last seen leading and boxing on for third at Home Hill as a dominant odds-on favourite, after a wide run when sixth at Innisfail on heavy ground. His 13 wins and five places from 23 starts at this track and distance are hard to ignore, and the 3kg claim helps offset the 63kg. Outstanding track-and-distance record keeps him in the mix, provided the big weight does not tell.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing last in a Quality at this venue, beaten just under ten lengths when he led and faded after racing keenly early. That came only a week after he beat Yes Dream at this track as favourite, so his best 1000m form is still there, and five wins from eight at this track and distance is a strong pointer. A return to his prior win is required.

Worked home bravely for fourth in a BM70 at this track last week, beaten a length and a half after beginning slowly and striking interference near the home turn. That is solid form for this, and he gets clear weight relief from the 61.5kg carried there. He had won well at this venue on soft ground the run prior, beating Lucky Rolla by two and a half lengths, and the quick back-up suits. Weight relief and race fitness make him the one to beat.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a forgive run at Ewan, where he was sent out favourite but raced wide throughout, hung out and was beaten seven and a half lengths in a Quality. His previous third at Mackay in Class 6 grade was much stronger, leading and fighting hard when beaten a length and a half by Contemporary. His Mackay Class 6 third is the better guide and gives him solid place claims.

Dual acceptor. Second run back. First-up after three months favourite; came from midfield and won by 0.5 len in a Bm70 at this track on October 18 over 1000m defeating Octavian Treasure carrying 60kg at $3.20. Previously second-up got back early 4th in a small field in a Cl3 Bm66 at Orange on December 30 over 1000m, 1.75 len behind Miss Capricorn carrying 55kg at $6.50. Has won second up in the past and is capable of building on that record.

Returns from a two-month freshening after a fair third at Mareeba, beaten a length by Yes Dream when near the top of betting. That picnic form is tested in harder company now, although the run prior at Cairns in BM70 grade had some merit after he raced wide and finished fourth to Lowlands. Harder assignment now, so he must lift to trouble the main hopes.

Returns from a 40-day let-up. At the latest run ran last in a small field in a Hcp at Bowen on September 15 over 1200m, 10 len behind Time To Prophet carrying 55kg at $14. The race before that raced on the pace before fading ran second last of 8 in a Bm68 at Mackay on September 3 over 1100m, 3 len behind Humble Hero with 57kg at $13. Needs to do more.

Has been honest all campaign, finishing third in a Class 3 at Bowen last start after winning a Class 2 at this venue on soft ground the start before, beating Spiritof The Ocean by half a length. He returns to a trip where he has three wins and two placings from six attempts, including two wins and two placings from five at this track and distance. Strong track-and-distance record and weight relief make him a major winning chance.

Was second last in a BM70 at this track last week, beaten five and a half lengths at long odds after settling close enough and failing to finish off. His third to Hartshorn at this venue on soft ground two starts ago was sound enough in a small field, but he again meets that rival and has to turn around the latest result. Has track-and-distance form, but recent figures leave him looking stretched.
