Races BR Townsville

Went within a long neck of Overland at this track last start, and the effort carried extra merit after he was slow to begin and raced wide throughout. He had been well beaten at Ewan the start prior, but still worked home from a rearward spot there. Already holds a recent edge on Roth Authority and rates strongly again.

Narrowly missed at this track last week when second to Towers Hill over 1400m, beaten a head after racing keenly through the middle stages and still fighting it out. His previous fourth behind Belinda's Rubi was also sound, beaten just under two lengths. The 1609m is new, but his form profile is the strongest.

Closed off nicely from the rear when sixth behind Belinda's Rubi at this track last start, beaten just under three lengths, and that followed a fifth behind Okay Zoomer when making solid inroads at big odds. A place hope rather than a clear top pick.

Drops back from a BM65 after finishing last at Bowen, beaten five and a half lengths as a long-odds runner. That was at picnic level, so this is a stronger meeting, but the grade relief into a Mdn helps. Capable of sneaking a placing if he rebounds.

Caught the eye late when seventh to Towers Hill at this track last week after beginning awkwardly and settling well back, so the beaten margin of just over six lengths does not tell the full story. His prior fifth behind Overland was closer, beaten just over a length, though he has yet to place in seven starts. Still unplaced in seven starts, so place claims look stronger.

Has finished eighth at his past two runs at this track, most recently beaten just over seven lengths by Towers Hill after being unwanted in the market. The start prior was only fair behind Sneaky Peaky and he remains unplaced from 15 career starts. The 3kg claim helps, but he must lift sharply.

Was not beaten far when seventh behind Belinda's Rubi at this track, making ground after being bumped early, but he started at long odds and still missed the frame. Two back he was sent out favourite at Gladstone and could manage only fourth, beaten five and a half lengths. The new 1609m task asks more, so others present stronger winning profiles. Looking to others.

Continues to race honestly, finishing third to Overland at this track last start and beaten only half a length after settling back and moving into the race. He was also third behind Sneaky Peaky two runs ago and has now placed four times from 10 starts. Honest profile and a major winning chance.

Returns from a five-month break after ending last preparation as a beaten odds-on favourite at Richmond Qld, where he was slow away, raced wide and finished last in a small field. His previous seventh at this track included a slow start and some traffic near the 300m. Last campaign ended poorly, but he has enough placing form to improve.

Disappointed as a well-supported favourite at Gordonvale last start, finishing fifth behind Proper Bender and beaten just over four lengths. She had been third at Mareeba the run prior, but both recent runs came over much shorter trips and she has not raced around 1609m before. Blinkers come off, but improvement is required.

Made a fair debut at this track last week when fourth to Towers Hill, beaten just under five lengths after jumping awkwardly and striking interference near the home turn. He had trialled a few weeks ago and his pedigree includes G3 winner Chivalry, so there is scope, but the quick back-up to a new 1609m trip makes this a tougher assignment. Keeping safe in minors.

Finished fifth on debut at Eidsvold, beaten just over eight lengths by Moonspell after jumping awkwardly and laying in down the straight. She had trialled some time back before that, but there is limited race evidence to support a sharp turnaround. Has to show much more at her first try around 1609m.
