Races PRB Greyville - SAF

Went close in FM MPLTE grade at Greyville last start, finishing second to Forthegoodtimes and beaten a length and a half at long odds. That followed a third at Vaal behind Treasure State, beaten just over a length, so her current form is sound. She has placed five times at this distance without winning, but the weight relief and inside draw keep her right among the main chances.

Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing second at this venue over 1400m, beaten just over a length when near the top of an open market but easing. She had earlier missed by a head in FM MPLTE grade on this track, so the recent pattern is strong. The return to 1200m is the query, but she has placed twice at the trip and profiles as a serious winning chance.

Returns from a five-week let-up after a much better third in FM MPLTE grade at this venue, beaten a length and a half by Cartel Queen after firming near the top of an open market. That was a clear lift on her second-last at Scottsville two back. The class drop and weight relief help, though her overall one placing from seven starts keeps her more in the minor-money bracket.

Continued a solid run of form when third to Tipsy at Fairview Aw last start, beaten two lengths after being heavily backed favourite. Her previous fourth to Lovely Dancer was also competitive, and she has placed five times from eight synthetic starts. Still chasing that first win, but the light weight and consistent profile make her the runner they have to beat.

Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing sixth at this venue, beaten just over six lengths, though the market support from bigger odds was at least a hint of stable confidence. His prior tenth at Scottsville was plain, and he is still only one placing from six starts. A previous placing at this track gives him some minor hope, but he must sharpen to threaten the better chances.

Resumes after a three-month break following a third at Scottsville, where he was beaten four lengths by Prized Possession as an outside chance in betting. He had earlier run fourth at Greyville, beaten five lengths, after firming from opening levels. The apprentice claim is useful and he has only had three starts, but he is yet to place at this distance and looks a place hope first-up.

Was safely held on debut at Scottsville, finishing ninth to Hadrian's Wall and beaten over 12 lengths after being unwanted in the market. He was also behind Roxbury Park there, which is a testing reference for this. Natural second-up improvement is possible and the class drop assists, but top weight leaves him requiring a sharp step forward to reach the placings.

Has been beaten a long way at both starts, most recently last behind Sensei Of Spin at Greyville over 1400m at big odds. His debut was also last, well beaten behind Bello Gallico, so there is no solid race evidence yet. The class drop and race fitness are small positives, but the quick back-up and first try around 1200m make this a difficult assignment.

Latest run was very hard to recommend, finishing last at Scottsville behind Wo Zai and beaten out of sight at long odds. He had also been last behind Gimme A Fireball two back, beaten over 13 lengths, so the recent form line is weak. Weight relief and race fitness are positives on paper, but he has not shown enough under race conditions to appeal strongly.

Resumed at Greyville with a 13th in FM MPLTE grade, beaten over 10 lengths by Forthegoodtimes at long odds, and Meghan's Diamond had her measure there. Her previous seventh at Scottsville was also only fair. The claim and weight relief give the set-up some help, but an eight-start maiden record with no placings leaves her with plenty to turn around.

Returns after two months since finishing second last at Scottsville behind French War Lord, beaten over 12 lengths at long odds. His run prior was sixth behind Prized Possession, beaten nine and a half lengths, again with little market confidence. The claim and lighter weight help the set-up, but he is unplaced from three starts and must make clear progress.

Resumes after a three-month break following a last placing in a small field at Vaal, beaten over 10 lengths by One State despite some market support. His previous fifth behind Silver Comet was more competitive, but still nearly five lengths away. He is yet to place from five starts and has not raced around 1200m, so he looks more a first-four hope than a winning play.

Makes his debut without race experience, so the market may be the best guide closer to start time. The Paul Lafferty debut record supplied is winless from 12 starters, with three placings, which keeps expectations measured. He carries top weight and has to do it at his first public race appearance, so a cautious approach is the sensible one.

Back after two months since finishing last at Vaal, beaten over 19 lengths by Time To Fire at long odds. His debut at Turffontein Standside was also well held, finishing seventh and beaten over 15 lengths when unwanted in the market. The class drop is not enough on its own, and the first attempt around 1200m adds another question.

Has started his career with two seconds, the latest at Greyville when beaten a length by National Insignia after sitting near the top of betting. His debut second at Scottsville behind Hadrian's Wall was also sound, beaten a length and a half in a 16-runner field. Third-up fitness is a plus, and despite top weight he brings a reliable maiden profile.
