Races CRX Moora

Resumes after eight months off following a solid York sixth, where he pressed forward and was beaten two lengths by Knockonheavensdoor in a 2yo+ Maiden. His previous fifth at the same venue was also sound after leading and working home evenly. The 4kg claim helps, although three tries around 1190m without a placing keeps the distance record as the query. The 4kg claim helps and he is a genuine winning hope.

Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing last at Geraldton, beaten over 13 lengths at long odds, with the wide run some excuse but not enough to hide the margin. He had also been beaten eight and a half lengths at Northam despite another incident near the 400m. Wide run excused part of last start, but major improvement is required.

Resumes after three months off with first-time blinkers to sharpen him after two plain Northam runs. He ended last campaign last in a 2yo+ Maiden over 1300m on soft ground, beaten over 12 lengths after racing keenly and covering ground. His debut also showed greenness, so the gear change is the clear positive. Recent form is modest, but the gear change gives him a place-improvement angle.

Second-up after an 11th at Bunbury on debut, beaten just over seven lengths after being bumped at the start and racing wide throughout. He was unwanted in the market there, but the run had enough against it to avoid judging him too harshly. His earlier trials included a Belmont Park second, so there is some grounding behind him. Second-up from barrier 3, he has a clear improvement case.

Was held up when sixth in a 2yo+ Maiden at Mingenew last week, beaten just under five lengths after being unwanted in the market. That was better than her Carnarvon run prior, where she was last and beaten over 17 lengths after weakening badly. Others make more appeal.

Returns from a two-month freshening after a Broome fifth, beaten just over two lengths at long odds after racing wide throughout. That was a better effort than her previous last at the same venue, and a Belmont Park trial a few weeks ago adds some readiness. Trial helps, but the 29-start maiden record keeps her in the roughie bracket.

Improved enough first-up when fifth in a 2yo+ Maiden at Mingenew, beaten just over four lengths at generous odds, though she laid in through the home straight. Her previous Geraldton run was weaker, beaten eight and a half lengths after beginning slowly and racing wide. Second-up here but I'm happy to bet around him.

Drops out of a 3yo+ Class 1 at Carnarvon where she was ninth, beaten over 10 lengths at big odds after giving little in the straight. Her run prior was far better, beaten a neck over 1000m when near the top of an open market, so there is a recent placing to work from. Distance record says place claims are safer than win confidence.

Was well fancied at Mingenew last week but missed the start and finished last, beaten over 19 lengths, so that run has to be treated with caution. The positive is her Carnarvon second two back, beaten a nose by Dashing Diva in a 2yo+ Maiden after leading. Her nose second two back is good enough to give her place claims if she jumps cleanly.

Resumes after three months off and brings the best winning profile in a modest maiden. She ended last campaign with a plain Pinjarra run when second last, but was bumped near the 400m and had earlier closed nicely for fifth at Bunbury, beaten just over four lengths in a 2yo+ Maiden. Bunbury fifth two back reads well for this and she gets the right setup to strike fresh.

Resumes after eight months off following a second-last finish at Ascot, beaten over 16 lengths in a 2yo+ Maiden after beginning slowly and racing keenly. He had also been well beaten at Pinjarra Scarpside, again showing keenness through the middle stages. Not here.
