That followed a Ballarat fourth behind Ten Commandments when he tracked the speed but did not quite finish off. The harder company is the query, but he has a genuine placing profile.

His Caulfield fifth in BM78 company two back had merit at big odds, but he still rises from country grade into a tougher assignment. Weight relief helps, but this is a harder test and others appeal more.

Was better than seventh reads in the G3 Tesio Stakes, beaten a length and a half by Soverato after beginning slowly in Saturday company. She had been a solid Cranbourne second to Ocean Bay start prior despite interference, and this distance is a clear strength with three wins and five places from eleven starts. Eased from Saturday company, she looks a strong chance.

Was second last first-up in a BM84 at Caulfield, beaten ten lengths after beginning slowly and making no impression from the rear. Her previous outing was also a well-beaten second last in the G3 Frances Tressady Stakes at Flemington. The class drop helps only slightly; she has a lot to turn around.

Finished last first-up in a BM80 at Caulfield, beaten seven and a half lengths after being big odds and making no impression. The start prior in BM100 company at Flemington was also plain despite market respect. He has to find much more second-up.

Lifted strongly at Caulfield last start, running second in a BM80 and beaten a length by In'Kantosstar after being unwanted in the market. He had been too far back when second last in a BM84 at Mornington first-up, so that latest effort was the key pointer. The trip is within range on his record and he looks the one to beat.

Led and finished strongly to win a BM80 at Morphettville on soft ground, beating Talisay by just over half a length after sitting near the top of an open market. The run prior at Murray Bdge had genuine excuses when held up around the 300m. Proven at the distance, with each-way claims.

Was only fair to the line when fourth at St Arnaud, beaten just under five lengths by Aftermath after being near the top of betting. His Caulfield fourth in a BM80 start prior was better, beaten two lengths by In'Kantosstar at long odds. Place claims look fairest.

Has twice gone close in BM66 grade, most recently beaten a nose by Melek at Bendigo after racing wide early. He was also beaten a head at Seymour, so the competitiveness is there, but he now backs up quickly, drops from 2400m to 2006m and rises to a harder meeting. The quick back-up suits and he can fire.

Had some excuse when sixth at Geelong, beaten four lengths by Fiorowngood after being tightened near the 2000m. Start prior he finished over the top to win a BM66 at Ballarat by a nose from Melek, and he is one from one at around this distance. One from one at the trip, but this harder company asks more.
