That followed a sound Geelong fifth at big odds, beaten a length and a half on soft ground. Heading the right way and looks an each way hope.

Had a genuine excuse at Warrnambool last start, held up until the 200m before making solid inroads for fifth, beaten a length and a half. His Geelong run before that was weaker, battling home at long odds and beaten seven and a half lengths. Has 1600m form, but still profiles more as a place hope.

Returns from a five-month break with three trials behind him, and the latest Cranbourne third suggests he has been given a fair foundation. He was last seen running third at Sale on heavy ground when favourite, beaten just under four lengths after working into it but not finishing off. Sale placings last campaign make him a strong chance fresh.
