Had genuine excuses when fifth at York last start, bumped at straightening and then only fair late after looking ready to pounce on soft ground. The Moora run prior was better, leading and sticking on for second, beaten a length and a half. The 1400m record is only fair, so he is more a place chance than a win play.

Drops from a BM44+ at York into a Mdn after finishing seventh, beaten four and a half lengths, when he raced keenly and wide in a race where he was near the top of an open market. His Bunbury run prior was similar on paper, but this is an easier set-up with the apprentice claim helping. The 2kg claim strengthens the winning case.

Has been well held in both runs this campaign, finishing second last at Bunbury last start when beaten nine and a half lengths at big odds and offered no clear excuse. The previous 12th there was also plain, despite a minor bump near the 500m. Blinkers come off, but he must find a sharper finish.

Makes his debut with two Lark Hill trials behind him, the latest a sixth over 1050m last week when beaten 2.45 lengths. The earlier trial was less encouraging, finishing ninth over 930m, so the race-day evidence is still thin. Has some pedigree support, but race experience is lacking.

Returns on a quick back-up after finishing fourth at Kalgoorlie, beaten just over six lengths in a small field at generous odds. The stronger reference is her Moora second two runs back, where she covered ground and finished strongly to miss by half a length behind Our Degree. Long-time maiden, but a sound place profile.

Produced a much better effort at Moora last start, running third to Our Degree and beaten just over a length despite starting at long odds. That was a clear lift on the Carnarvon ninth in Class 1 company, where she was beaten over 10 lengths and gave little late. New to 1400m, but that latest run gives her place claims.

Worked home respectably first-up at York when eighth, beaten just under four lengths, after settling rearward and keeping on despite racing keenly early and laying in from the 400m. The stable now reaches for first-time blinkers and a 3kg claim, both useful second-up changes. Sharp improver and a major threat.
