Races PRB Greyville - SAF

Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing sixth in a Mdn at this track, beaten six lengths by Golden Gem at long odds. The Scottsville run prior was weaker again, 12th and beaten over 12 lengths behind Gimme A Fireball. He remains unplaced in five starts, including three at this venue, so a sharp lift is required.

Back after five weeks following a debut seventh at Scottsville, where he was beaten over 11 lengths by Hadrian's Wall at long odds. Roxbury Park came through that same race in stronger style, which leaves this colt with ground to make up. The class drop is some help, but 1400m is new and he has to show marked second-up improvement.

Finished last on debut at Greyville, coming home well held behind Major League after starting at big odds. There is little exposed race evidence to build a positive case from, and the 1400m is new second-up. The class drop gives him a softer setup, but he will have to turn that first run around substantially.

Was backed from bigger odds on debut at Vaal but finished second last and well beaten behind Kings Mountain over 1200m. The 4kg apprentice claim and class drop are positives, while his family has produced winners over further, but he has not raced around 1400m before and must show much more under race pressure.

Had a stronger reference point two back when second at this track, beaten a length by Predator's Crown at big odds. She then finished sixth behind Gimme Sunshine at Greyville over 1600m, beaten four and a half lengths after being unwanted in the market. Back at around 1400m, where she has placed, she profiles as a genuine minor hope.

Produced one of his better recent efforts when second in a Mdn at this track, beaten a length and a half by Royale Jacket after being well-supported near the top of betting. He has placed three times from ten starts at this venue and has also placed twice from three rides with this jockey. The maiden record is the knock, but the latest run makes him a major player.

Returns from a three-month break after finishing 12th at Greyville, beaten five and a half lengths by Skipper Zip despite firming near the top of an open market. His earlier Scottsville ninth was also plain, and he is yet to place from three starts. Market respect last time suggests some ability is there, but he must produce a better return to get into the placings.

Has started his career with two seconds, most recently beaten a length by National Insignia at Greyville after being near the top of betting. His debut second to Hadrian's Wall at Scottsville also reads well for this, and he now looks ready third-up with weight relief. The first try at 1400m is the lone query, but his consistency gives him the strongest winning case.

Finished ninth on debut at Greyville, beaten over 14 lengths by Sensei Of Spin after starting at long odds. The R450,000 buy does have a family with winners around this range, but his own first race-day effort leaves far more to prove. He has already been unplaced at this distance, so others bring stronger form credentials.

Resumes after two months since a fair fifth at Durbanville, beaten three and a half lengths by Spinnaker after attracting some support despite long odds. His Kenilworth debut was well beaten over 1000m, but the latest run was a more useful guide and the weight relief is in his favour. Still a maiden yet to place, he looks a realistic exotics hope.

Returns from a lengthy ten-month spell with useful maiden form from his last campaign, highlighted by a neck second to Speedman at Turffontein Standside. He was later fourth to Tempranillo in a small field when well in the market, and his overall record shows two placings from seven starts. Fitness is the unknown, but his best form is good enough to win this.

Returned with a much better effort when third at this track, beaten just over a length by Gallic King despite being unwanted in the market. That was a clear improvement on his second-last at Scottsville, where he was beaten over 18 lengths at long odds. The 1400m record is still unconvincing, but the latest run gives him each-way claims.
