Eased back from Saturday company after finishing fourth in a Benchmark 65 over 1615m at Doomben, where he led and was beaten a length and a half by Flaxlands at generous odds. His Ipswich second in CG Class 1 company two back was also sound, and he was only pipped late after becoming unbalanced near the 250m. Top weight is the query, but he looks the one to beat.

Second-up after finishing last in a BM65 at this track, where he began slowly, was hampered and was beaten just over six lengths at big odds. The run prior at the Sunshine Coast was also plain, finishing last on soft ground after settling rearward. Happy to miss.

Made some late ground when sixth at this venue last week, beaten just under three lengths after being slow to begin and left with work to do. That followed a third here in Class 3 company behind Brain Wave, a solid effort after being unwanted in the market. Blinkers go on and he profiles as a place hope.

Returns on a suitable quick back-up after a luckless sixth over 2000m at Gatton, where she was near the top of an open market, held up around the home turn and steadied late when beaten two and a half lengths by Quality Miss. Her Sunshine Coast run prior in Class 2 company was also better than sixth suggests after making ground from well back. Back to her winning track and trip, she is a major danger.

Second-up after a plain eighth in a Benchmark 55 at Gatton, where he began awkwardly, loomed into the race but offered little and was beaten just over nine lengths. He was also well held at Grafton prior to the break, despite being near the top of betting in a Class 1. His record at this track and the apprentice claim give him some each-way context, but he has to show far more under pressure. Happy to avoid.

She is clearly still learning, and her debut seventh at Grafton came after being checked before finishing only fairly. The record is promising after two starts, but the first look around 1800m in BM58 company demands another clear step forward. Deserves respect.
