That run is easy enough to assess leniently given he had won a Maiden at Coffs Harbour the start prior, beating Zweigelt by just under a length on soft ground. Wet-track record keeps him in the place mix.

Placed first-up at Lismore in a Benchmark 58, beaten a length by Gaming after beginning awkwardly and covering ground through the middle stages. He was well-supported favourite there, so the market expected a forward run, and the effort still had merit. Draws better, blinkers go on and he has a strong winning case.

Barrier one suits his on-pace pattern and he has placed in all four starts this season. First try at 1400m is the main question.
