He steps from picnic grade into harder company and has not raced around 1500m, but the inside draw helps his chance of holding a spot. Harder task now and 1500m is new, but he has minor-money claims.

Resumes after four months off following a Gold Coast fourth over 1800m, beaten five and a half lengths, where he worked home evenly after being steadied early. He had placed at the same venue the run prior despite racing wide throughout, and a Beaudesert trial second suggests he is ticking over. Previous 1500m attempt is the query.

Was always up against it on debut at Gatton, settling back and finishing second last, beaten over 13 lengths at big odds, with a wide passage near the 500m adding some context. Blinkers go on and the class set-up is kinder, but she backs up quickly from a plain first outing and has not raced around 1500m. Wide run adds context, but she must lift sharply.

Drops from Saturday company after finishing second last behind Metric at Eagle Farm, beaten six and a half lengths on soft ground after racing keenly and wide throughout. His Grafton debut was more encouraging, only beaten two and a half lengths after beginning awkwardly. Third-up fitness helps, but the finish has to improve.

Has been safely held at his last two, most recently sixth at Toowoomba, beaten over 10 lengths after beginning awkwardly and being forced wide near the turn. His prior fifth at this venue was better, beaten just over four lengths, but he was still unable to go on with it after having the leaders in sight. Looks a minor hope only.

Comes off two heavy defeats at Toowoomba, most recently seventh behind Shrimpton, beaten over 16 lengths, after being unwanted in the market. She was also beaten over 12 lengths the start prior after beginning slowly and never looking likely. Class drop alone is not enough.

Placed at this track last start when third to Divinelle over 1350m, beaten just under three lengths after racing keenly and being forced wide late. That followed a better-than-market sixth at Gold Coast when sent out at big odds and beaten only two and a half lengths. First go at 1500m is the sticking point.

Resumed with a plain Sunshine Coast run, finishing second last behind Monotone, beaten over 10 lengths at long odds after settling back and making only limited ground. His previous Ipswich run before the break was also well held on soft ground. Others bring stronger recent form.

Built some momentum when third at Talwood last start, beaten two and a half lengths by Amazara after being close in the market. That was a stronger result than his Toowoomba seventh two back, and he also holds a recent edge over Ole Ali from that Talwood meeting. Fourth-up with a gear change, he has a solid winning profile.

Had excuses when fourth at Armidale last start, beaten two and a half lengths by Purple Prince after being bumped soon after jumping and making contact in the straight. She was also held up at Ipswich two back when beaten just under four lengths, so her recent form has more merit than the bare placings show. Race fit and the one to beat.

Gets a more suitable assignment after an eighth at Sunshine Coast, where interference on the home turn gives some reason to overlook the seven-and-a-half-length margin. Her debut fifth at Toowoomba was fair after being tightened at the start, and she is now third-up with blinkers going on. Lightly raced filly with enough upside to be a winning player.

Comes here off a Toowoomba sixth, beaten over 14 lengths behind Shrimpton, with a blunder noted and little impact late. The start prior at Kilcoy ended with him failing to finish after racing wide and being eased, so the recent form is untidy. Weight relief, a claim and a solid place record over this distance keep him in the minor mix rather than the top winning tier. Keeping in mind.

Finished fifth in a Benchmark 50 at Taroom last start, beaten just over six lengths after being slow away, and that race-type reference gives him a different form line into this maiden. The prior Grafton run was plain, last and unwanted in betting. Long maiden record still makes him hard to promote.

Worked home from the back at Gatton last week when seventh to Mahmoa, beaten just under six lengths, and being steadied at straightening gives the run a little more merit. Her previous effort at this venue was plain after beginning slowly and racing wide, and Ole Ali had her measure at Gatton. Weight relief helps, but an unplaced ten-start record remains a major concern. Happy to avoid.

Gets weight relief from his Talwood run two back and comes off a provincial fifth at Gatton, beaten just under five lengths behind Mahmoa on soft ground after settling midfield. He was big odds there, but that effort rates competitively for this line-up, and the apprentice claim adds further help. The 1500m record is the query, but his recent rating stacks up.
