He had beaten Gambino in a Benchmark 72 the start prior as favourite, so the form is genuine. Big weight and barrier 12 temper the enthusiasm, but the recent form is solid.

Continued a consistent preparation when third to Gram in a CG Benchmark 78 over 1110m at Doomben, beaten three lengths after travelling well but never threatening the runaway winner. Two back he worked home from rearward for third at Eagle Farm. Last-start third was sound rather than sharp, but the class set-up gives him a strong hand.

Returns from a three-month break after an eighth in a Quality at Rockhampton, beaten just over two lengths, where he jumped awkwardly, raced keenly and was held up before working clear. His previous Gold Coast fifth on heavy ground was only fair after fading late. SCRATCHED.

Arrives off a Benchmark 72 win at Doomben, where he was unwanted in the market but travelled handy and arrived in time to beat Rimbaud by a nose. That followed a big-odds third behind Manpower over 1110m, so he is holding form better than the market has expected. Wide draw makes the task trickier, but place claims remain.

Went close in a Class 5 over 1000m at Sunshine Coast, beginning slowly before charging home to be beaten a long neck by Bonded Affair. The run prior was plain in an Open at Doomben when unwanted and wide throughout. Better again needed up to 1300m in this grade.

Finished sixth in a Class 5 at Ipswich last start, beaten just under three lengths after holding a handy position and failing to go on. His Doomben fifth two back in a CG Benchmark 78 was similar, with early keenness and no late finish. Needs the 1300m to bring improvement.

Dropped out to last first-up in a 1MW-LY at Eagle Farm, beaten just under eight lengths after beginning slowly and racing wide throughout. She had been a well-supported favourite when third over 1650m at Doomben before the spell, so there is older ability there. Needs a clear second-up turnaround.

Brings solid Sydney form into this after finishing third in a 3yo+ Benchmark 78 at Randwick, beaten just over three lengths by Decorum after being bumped at the start. He had charged home for second to Polyglot at Rosehill over 1100m the run prior. Third-up and drawn well, he looks the one they have to beat.

Resumed with a strong Open placing at Dalby, beaten a head by Don Pedro after being held up passing the 300m. That was much sharper than his Sunshine Coast fifth over 1800m before the break, where he was close enough but failed to finish off. Genuine each-way chance with that run under his belt.

Was beaten eight and a half lengths in a small Saturday race at Eagle Farm last start after beginning slowly and never getting into the contest. His Sunshine Coast third in Benchmark 78 grade two back was better, as he loomed and fought on despite some late interference. Holds genuine claims on best efforts.

Made ground at big odds when fifth in an FM Benchmark 78 at Doomben, beaten a length and a half by Just Precious, and that was a better run than the market expected. She had also been fair from the back behind Manpower two starts ago. Extra trip is the query, but she is capable of sneaking into the minors.

Returns from a six-month break after starting favourite and finishing ninth in a Benchmark 78 over 1600m at Eagle Farm, beaten three and a half lengths without a clear excuse. Before that he beat Boom Shot in a 3yo+ Class 3 at Doomben and he has since won a Toowoomba Inner Track trial. Needs to erase the beaten-favourite run, but the upside is clear.

Finished sixth in a Benchmark 70 at Toowoomba first-up, beaten just under five lengths by Irama after being held up on the home turn. Two back he was a big-odds fourth in a Benchmark 80 at Sunshine Coast, working home okay after covering ground. Still needs to turn honest 1300m placings into a stronger finish.
