Steward's Comments: Rider reported when caught wide in the early stages, and his mount was racing keenly, he allowed it to stride forward to take up the lead, which was further forward than intended. He added that his mount, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, was a beaten horse from the 600m and that he had recommended to connections to drop the gelding back in distance and to remove the blinkers from its gear.
