Steward's Comments: Raced wide without cover. RR instructed to ride the gelding, which was having its first race start, where comfortable. Anticipated off the gelding’s recent jump outs, that he would settle in a forward position, however through the early stages Kandinsky did not have enough speed to cross the runners to his inside, and for this reason he was left racing three wide without cover for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg.
