Steward's Comments: Slow to begin and then crowded after the start by High Heeled which shifted out. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1800m shifted out when awkward on the heels of Balinor (IRE). Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Steward's Comments: Became unbalanced negotiating 14th obstacle. When qstd, rdr std geld jumped well when negotiating treble in back straight on final occasion & gained an advantage over remainder of field. Std geld was under pressure from 800m and from 400m, when in 3rd place, he attempted to ensure geld, which was tiring under its weight impost, safely negotiated the final 2 obstacles before then riding mount out over concluding stages. Post-race vet exam – no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the stable.

Looked in control of the race a long way from home and won impressively 25L at Ballarat Gn Chase over 4500m Heavy 8. Could only battle the race out for fourth after holding that position in-running 7.8L at Warrnambool Stple over 3450m Soft 6. Can win second-up, consider.

Steward's Comments: Jumped 12th obstacle awkwardly and knuckled. Hampered after jumping last obstacle. Rdr said intention to follow favoured runner. Added he attempted to improve from the 1000m however mount made an error and then was hampered, however under weight was always under pressure to run down winner. Post race vet exam revealed no abs.

R: Geld trav & jumped well t/out, however gave ground quickly under pressure from 800m, where he then retired mount from race. Added geld may not have been suited by heavy track conds. Post-race vet exam – no abs. T: At a loss to explain disapp perf. Stated geld had worked well leading into race & he anticipated a competitive performance.
